Pedestrians are just keep walking, no matter how close they are to the vehicles! Cars also keep moving but would not bump into one another! Amazing!

I'm Napolitan and I'll tell you the secret of Italian driving: NEVER make any eye contact with other drivers, because if you do they'll automatically understand that they have the precedence and you will probably get stucked in it. You must only look in front of you through the road and when u see even a little opening between two vehicles (2 cars, Scooters or a car and a scooter) just GO, the other drivers will adapt and let you pass. You must be fast but at the same time you must look carefully to don't crash your veliche with the one which is in front of you so do not go too fast. Initially it could seem very difficult driving in here, but after a few days you'll learn how to drive fluently and even having fun with it😂. Here, in Southern Italy cities there are no rules, BTW car accidents are really rare because we have our "driving code". Bye and love from Naples❤️

just got back from driving in naples and I am from Australia. Fairly easy to do, just let your inner child out and ignore road rules.

What's the problem? Pedestrians and cars sharing the same space and any of them leaving enough room space for the others? Motorbikes passing without being damaged? Cars stopping at crossing zone leaving just the room space for cars coming from the left of the video? This is Naples people, land of democracy. I bet in your country people crossing streets out of walk lines, or without stop lights got hit with no mercy or the drivers will get mad braking at last centimeters of space left and/or honking as desperate insane people but without braking. In Naples we have respect for anyone. Just learn how locals cross the roads and you will have no problems in Naples.

If you can drive in napoli you can drive anywhere in the world. When I was there first time I was shocked but you get used to it after few hours 😂

It's like this in India too. It works because people pay attention and nobody has he right-of-way. Everybody accommodates everybody else. True democracy! I bet you don't see a lot of road rage.

Some intersections in Italy there is just no waiting for your turn, if you do that you never go so you make your own path, its not be a jerk really it's called going with the flow and other drivers get it.

Why no traffic lights or why traffic not take notice of pedestrian crossings? Its complete mayhem / got a feeling I'm not gonna like it there when go on booked holiday. Saftey procedures look none existent , bet me and parents will be trying to cross 1 road for hours .

It's not a good place if you're a petrolhead and if you want to take care of your vehicle. Literally no point in buying nice things because they won't last long. 9/10 cars in Naples have dents and scratches. I know this appeals to some people but this chaos is very uncommon in rest of Europe and the lack of rules translates to povert, economic decline of the city and mafia taking over. Rules and laws are good. Locals manage to survive in this environment but their efficiency is far lower compared to other EU countries which results in much lower quality of life. Nothing to be proud of if you ask me. Except maybe the food.

If you are from Naples you would know...THERE ARE RULES....same in Djakarta (Indonesia) kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZemeGqaepd8nM0 or any other place with busy traffic. For an outsider it seems as there are no rules... but there are rules in place... not by law (written on paper) but there are rules.... It is truly amazing no one has hit one another.. Rik (not understanding laws) but trying to understand humans..
