Since I was old enough to drive, I have always had my plastic license in a wallet in my purse. And along with always having that, I’ve also been able to show proof of registration, & lastly my insurance card. I really have no clue what the malfunction is 😂 with folks nowadays. When he opens the passenger door at 8:31 you can see the mirror reflect . Maybe it doesn't have a mirror on the windshield , but I didn't think you had to have one if you had side mirrors .

There was no probable cause to stop this vehicle. Not to mention rummaging thru the vehicle. The passenger was not required to show ID either. Unless she was suspected of a crime which she was not. I would contact an attorney for clear violation of your rights. § 393.80 Rear-vision mirrors. (a) Every bus, truck, and truck tractor shall be equipped with two rear-vision mirrors, one at each side, firmly attached to the outside of the motor vehicle, and so located as to reflect to the driver a view of the highway to the rear, along both sides of the vehicle.

These troopers were either acting on some anonymous phone call to the effect that the occupants of the Ford truck were druggies, or, Trooper Clements was having a bad day. He seemed intent to find something but just couldn't lay his hands om anything incriminating. Surprised he didn't call in a women trooper and do a more intimate search off the lady. I thought the couple behaved extremely well in the circumstance.

Side mirrors in place? Couldn't tell if intact or not. This stop strikes me as unreasonable and unnecessary right from the start. I get the missing rearview mirror concern but I question the search attached to this "reason" for the stop. Perhaps a historical grounding at root here, something not being revealed, but viewed as is ... looks and smells like harassment.

I believe that the windshield was also cracked. In my state, both of those items would get you at least a warning. If you don't want to be searched, don't provide the nice officers with "probable cause." But look at the bright side, at least he found the lady's flashlight for her.

The Trooper asked for consent , which was given by the driver as well as the passenger, so everything was on the up and up. They found needles in the vehicle (paraphernalia) which they could have hooked the woman for and they didn't. The driver got fix it tickets for the mirror and the windshield which are non points offenses. I say solid stop all the way around.

I feel that tug on her shoulder strap at 21:26 is a tell she has something in her bra. Coincides with the supporting troopers observation of her attempting to keep her shirt from falling. An adhesive that often fails which is why you can buy a replacement for it in almost every auto parts store should not warrant a search? So what was the real story here? Yea, I am thinking the same thing. He recognized them as someone with a history and fished. The mirror was just a convenient reason for the stop as he walked up the truck. I love how the ASP normally works but this is simply silly. Possible he had a plate reader as well that flagged their NCIC history. I have personally sat in the back of a cop car and listened to my NCIC come back and they listed everyone I had ever been with during a police encounter. I am no thief or addict. I lived in a suburb growing up and smoked weed and all the cops had to do was harass teens for weed. They were so serious about it too. After watching many of these videos of ASP, seems as though they want to search everyone's vehicle for no apparent reason and/or chase people for anything traffic and pit them at dangerous speeds. I can't figure it out.

No. They pull them over for a traffic violation, then when the dumbass flees, that is a felony. Who runs from a police car? People who have something major to hide. If they didn’t chase them, who would stop? At that point, why would they be out there at all? It’s not rocket science.

You can see the mirror reflect at 8:31 when he opens the passenger door . Maybe it doesn't have a mirror on the windshield , but I thought you didn't have to have one if you had side mirrors .@@holygeneration7

From what I heard and saw, I am betting one (or both) of these 2 are known to authorities as drug users. That would be cause for search. I have needles in my house, but then I'm a diabetic! LOL (Type 2) I use one a week unless I am ill then more often. As has been pointed out, the windshield (windscreen) was cracked and the every so untrustworthy rear view mirror had come unstuck! (They do that in the south) So far as I am aware, nothing wrong with that and most younger folks just use it to hang bubbles from. Mine's there, but I rely on my 2 outside mirrors. My spouse says I am a crappy driver, well I am 76 and slower than I used to be. I've never received any tickets and other than a pothole and a cow ( long, long ago), I've never hit anything. I began driving at 12 on a farm, so I am aware of things. Spouse has 2 speeding tickets that I know of and he rear ended a car one time - stupid idiot didn't have any lights at all! Yes, it was a bit silly, however, if you have a history with the local authorities it's a good idea to stay on the up and up.

She stuffed it they didn't have a female officer on scene to thoroughly check so they got away. Dude had more then enough time to tell her to stuff watching the trooper come up

i've got a feeling a lot of times LE gets tipped off about, especially, a drug-related situation from a third party and then it;s not hard to find some reason to pull the suspect over on a vehicle-related violation of some sort or the other and then, what, wait, lo and behold, looka here, junk and paraphernalia.

Cargo mirrors are all the law requires, trooper no more than these people are guilty of, you could have let them go on their way.we have more serious problems than this. Don't get me wrong I love and respect my bears,yal are the best.

I think ASP do a great job but that’s just plain Ed stupid, no if’s or buts about it. Pulling trailers , putting loads into a p/u . Being a retired t/t driver side mirrors are so much more important
