It was very informative video, sir. except for one place, where I had doubts in Greenberg's model equation. how come ln (k/kj) became ln (kj) - ln (k). it should be ln (k) - ln (kj) in 2nd equation, I maybe wrong too. If there’s a chance the original equation was meant to be ln(kj/k)
@SatishIITR2 ай бұрын
Yes, u are correct. The original equation is ln(kj/k). Thank you 🙏

Prof. Chandra in the first example the equation means Greenberg Model?
@SatishIITR Жыл бұрын
Yes, it is the form of Greenberg model

Sir I have one question why greenshields model is assumed to be linear for density-speed relationship
@SatishIITR2 жыл бұрын
This is not an assumption. Greenshield collected data on a highway using time lapse photography in 1934 and fitted the relation between the speed and the density and he found that the relation is linear.

@@SatishIITR Sir then why others are not getting same or different relationship
@SatishIITR2 жыл бұрын
@@vishnutripathi3005 Greenshields model is the simplest one and it was derived at a time when there were not many gadgets available either for taking field data or for making long calculations. This was the fiirst atempt to relate traffic flow parameters. This equation gave directions to other researchers and also later opened anew field of traffic Engineering. Further developments were provoked by this research only.

Sir Should we not consider the negative sign of b
@SatishIITR2 жыл бұрын
if you initially assume u = a - bk, then negative sign is not considered.
