Ada’s case was mental and spiritual. It is very abnormal for all members of a family to die one after the other. I have lost my parents and two sisters....and other unfortunate events too at childhood. My elder sister had severe depression and mental illness as such ended up committing suicide here in Nigeria. Of a truth, what has kept me strong and free from pain is God! God is the only way to be happy and free of pain. The pain Ada’s heart felt is very unbearable and very sharp! I can only imagine. A Character who brought laughter and humor to fans and viewers was herself a very sad and unhappy fellow! What an irony! RIP Ada Ameh. I really loved you and your movies....you were so real and funny! You’re the reason I always looked forward to watching THE JOHNSONS

You did an absolute job with this documentary, the best and most detailed I have seen of Ada Ameh. Her life story is so heartbreaking, I can't imagine one person bearing the weight of it. Ironically I was discussing her last week and how parents create a bigger problem when their teenage kids get pregnant and they don't provide support. fast forward, while am a very exposed psychiatric provider practicing in the US, I can not be oblivious of spirituality. what happened in this family is no coincidence. It's one too many. To tell you the devil is in the details, they made sure she buried her daughter first, so she feels the full wrought of the pain before eventually taking her. As a certified mental health provider, I can tell you YES she had depression(self-acclaimed) but depression does not cause death by people suddenly slumping to death. Depression can cause suicidal ideations and deaths through suicide but not a sudden slumping of someone seen eating lunch and cracking jokes. May God rest her soul and grant her eternal rest.

Same here commending the narrator. This is the first and well narrated story on Ada. I totally agree with you N that her case was a combination of spiritual, depression leading to mental heslth problem. The crux of the matter, is the spiritual angle, that does that was ignored,or not delt with promptly. I mean she need no soothsayer, to tell her that, having experienced back to back deaths; in her family, it's a matter of time, before it becomes her turn.. The clock was ticking However, without me jumping into conclusion; cos i am not familiar with her, could be she tried in her own little way. So sad, and a waste. May her soul rest in peace.

A well narrated story. Thank you! Adas’ life was truly a sad one. Her sudden death was as a result of unaddressed psychological traumas she experienced and lived with from youth. Being in therapy would have helped to put those traumas in perspective for her. I don’t believe she and her family were “marked” by anything “spiritual” These tragedies are a cumulation of health issues, disappoints, mistakes and very very bad decisions taken!! Nigeria as a country has failed its citizens on ALL levels. It’s truly the strongest that survives now. Adieu Ada! Rest now and be that shining star you evidently are!! 💕

@Nubian, am sorry but I beg to disagree. How many families in Nigeria do you know lose YOUNG family members because of unaddressed psychological traumas. Without sounding insensitive what they experienced is not an unheard of story in a society like Nigeria. Am not belittling it in any way but it doesn't warrant to deaths of 8 family members. Naa. It is this refusal to accept that pattern is not ordinary and seek physical as well as spiritual intervention that led us to this sad story. Am a Christian and the Bible clearly shows that there's good and bad. Darkness and light. Choosing to be in denial of this and believing everything is physical and scientific my dear is why though the pattern is clear, it is allowed to keep happening. RIP to her soul

Thanks for a great video. Given the limited information we have, I’d like to add the possibility of genetic or inherited disorders that may result in illness or sudden death at a young age in multiple family members. Not saying this is what definitely has happened in this situation, but it should certainly be considered. Blaming juju or spiritual attacks is a popular and ‘easy’ option that we can only challenge if post portem exams or investigations are carried out. Since we can’t do these tests, we accept the popular view that can’t be challenged.🤔 And I do agree with your opinion on the collective impact of her experiences from early, premature childbearing, stigma of life on the streets; and even after (apparently) emerging victorious from these - progressive loss of 8 close family members would be a tremendous impact on her mental health and well-being! Can we just imagine what her inner thoughts could have been? Oh dear, this life! 💔 May she now rest in peace. God’s comfort to her loved ones🙏🏽

As a personal opinion, I believe this is purely a spiritual case or rather there is a curse in place, and strongman of the family has been assigned to waste every life in that family, she did have a good adviser, she could have ran for her life and daughter to a deliverance ministry life mountain of fire(prayer city) she could have lived under God protection. It is well.

I think her death is a combination of many factors; bad friends, failed childhood, bad parenting, wayward teenage lifestyle, genetic disorder, emotional, psychological and spiritual disorder, etc. so much. Each and all of these needed to have been dealt with and resolved totally at the right time but might be glossed over and compounding all along. For instance, growing up in such an environment of exposure should make parents circumspect rather than mere bullying and threatening. Handling the pregnancy the right way by letting her see her shame but redirecting her would have also helped. Then growing up as a wayward teenager through prostitution, smoking etc. might have started a medical problem in her body system unknown to her. This might have also be responsible for her not married till she died. She could be scared of men, or felt a man is not needed in her life, etc. Though she admitted going out with a man on TVC Your View in June before she died in July. She could have settled down long ago but for her childhood and teenage lifestyles, which might have affected her view about marriage or settling down with a man. She mentioned on TVC that she was into a bad lifestyle [especially getting drunk/high and all sorts] so much that sometimes her daughter used to send her bad text message. And that she would sometimes tell her, just leave me ooo, you don't know where am coming from ooo, and all sorts of self demeaning talks. Imagine getting involved in such a lifestyle that your daughter grew up to be advising and scolding her? Am sure her past life that should have been healed emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually by those times. She even said same in this documentary that it was just about a year now that there is no alcohol in her bloodstream. She could have been damaging her kidney or other organs long ago. Then comes the death of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 family members. This could be a spiritual attack or curse on the family or a medical condition that needs urgent attention to be dealt with. But here is a woman that do not enjoyed childhood so long with these departing souls; father and siblings. Also, if she had been healed of her past lifestyles and wounds, probably she would have been alert spiritually enough to check for the medical or spiritual cause of these happening, but it was also glossed over, while she was moving on. She eventually thanked God on TVC that she is now getting over alcohol and some other aspects of her past. But the Bible says, "When the foundation is faulty, what can even the righteous do? (Psalms 11:3) Coming to Christ or taking a new lifestyle after the death of a child, at over 45 years of age is a good one, but sometimes we may have to live with the consequences of our [physical and spiritual] past lifestyles or we have to start dealing with them rather than just moving on thinking it is all over since we have changed. Foundations and past lives still matters in the present and future. That is why Yorubas will say; "Omode bu iroko, o nwehin; oojo lo ro pe Oluwere nluni ni?" A child abused Iroko tree and is looking back, dies he think Oluwere [the ghost inside Iroko tree] will beat him same day? These should make us see that, advise and instruction about living well from childhood till adulthood are most of the times for the future, only few of those instructions or advise are for the present. Hence what you do as a child will affect your teenage life, teenage lifestyle will affect youthful life, life as youth will affect life as an adult or parent and what you do as adult will affect you at old age. These include what is done physically, educationally, financially, behaviourally, spiritually, eating and drinking habits, etc. may come to affect us later in life. Finally, parenting is key. Do not be too lenient with your kids, neither should you be too harsh with them. If they make mistake as a child up to their youthful life, even as adults, let them see or suffer the consequences but never abandon them. Rather use the consequences teach them while you advise and support them in a way to get out of the problem so that they won't repeat the mistake again. Let them know that you hate what they did but still show them love. She could have been accepted and trained by the father after scolding her rather than pushing her away further into the cold and bad gangs. Lastly, let your kids know that while it is good to make it in life, with good career, financially okay, emotionally balanced, etc. there is need to also be spiritually alert. Spirituality is another aspect of life, just like our career, finance, emotions, personality, etc. and it affects the course of our lives whether we accept it or not. that should not make us to be scared about life or become fetish, rather seeking our creator for His support in all other areas. He is the only one that can correct and override, emotional trauma, medical reports, financial instability, past life consequences, just like he did for the woman that was about to be stoned for adultery. But when we refused to acknowledge Him in every other aspects of our lives, we may have to live with those consequences or dealing with them without results. I so much feel for her. May her soul rest in peace.

Life is very spiritual. Everything that happens on this physical world is controlled by the spiritual realm. We can’t afford to live carelessly. It does not matter whether we believe it or not. We were put on this earth to have dominion. Let’s not allow the devil deceive us. Fight for your life and your family. We do not fight against flesh and blood. Let’s us all seriously seek God in our lives.

That’s spiritual arrows. It’s unfortunate nobody directed her to Prophetess Rose Kelvin there at Abuja. Nigerians, over 90% of them, thrive on throwing spiritual arrows to destroy one another. My friend, how can you lose all your brothers and sisters, 6 of them, before they are 40, and tell me it’s not arrows thrown at the family? May her soul Rest In Peace. Amen.

I hope she's at rest now. There is a high probability that she had underlying health problems such as hypertension, heart disease or even liver disease ( due to her heavy drinking) in addition to being depressed. All these issues can take a toll on once health and shorten their lifespan.

Heartbreaking💔. I personally think she died of a heart attack. Even though she verbalized suffering from depression, she’s always managed it well. She never endorsed suicidal ideations. She always utilized her coping skills on social media, movies, making people laugh etc and always remained hopeful about the future amidst the chaos. CPR might just have saved her life.

I wholeheartedly concur with you. Losing a child is not somehing to be taken lightly. AA was deeply broken inside but tired hard to keep her composure. I suspected she hardly slept a wink at nights. But for how long could she have withstood such an overwhelming helplessness? Heartache, lack of sleep, as well as those happy memories jogging her mind days and nights seriously took a toll on her. She was really desperate. I wouldn't wish such a trauma to anyone, not even to my fearcest foe. AA will be sorely missed by us all. 😭😭😭

May Ada Ameh’s soul Rest In Peace. May she find solace in the bosom of her creator. Amen. Nigerians need to move past blaming spiritual attacks on everything. There’s a pattern here that can point to a genetic or familial illness causing death in this family. Ada had a sudden death. She was having a good time with a family where she was a guest, collapsed and the rest is history now. Depression or any other psychiatric diagnosis will not cause sudden death. Look at Ada’s body habitus, she was obese and so prone to cardiac arrest, stroke, sudden massive pulmonary embolism which can all lead to sudden death. I would advise an autopsy by a seasoned pathologist be carried out. Maybe it can help any other member of her family (immediate or extended) left behind. A bad healthcare system and education of the masses are also a big problem in Nigeria. In the Western world, someone collapses, the next thing is to call 911 and while on that call, if there is someone else there, CPR is started immediately. 911 will keep you on the phone while they are on their way to keep instructing you on the ongoing CPR. When 911 arrives, they take over and they usually have all medical equipments for intubation of the patient if necessary. In Nigeria, someone collapses, no one tries to do CPR because we are not educated on that. The best we do is to fan the person or pour water. There’s no 911 to call. You place the person in your car (with no medical gadgets) and head to the hospital. Even if you call an ambulance, I doubt that the ambulances in Nigeria have anything more than oxygen (which by the way is a big deal in Nigeria 🤦🏽‍♀️). Are the ambulance staff trained for CPR? Do they have monitors and defibrillators? I strongly doubt it. You get to the hospital in Nigeria, same story; the doctor checks: no heart beat, no respiratory movement; diagnosis; BID… Brought In Dead. There is absolutely no attempt at resuscitation even there in the hospital, no CPR to try and achieve ROSC… Return Of Spontaneous Circulation and subsequent intubation and ICU admission. These hospitals do not have the medications needed during CPR that aim at “jump starting” the heart again. Our hospitals do not have equipped ICUs. It is just unfortunate! Many people die before their actual time in Nigeria and please don’t tell me it is the will of God or God’s time. No it is not! God gave us freewill and doesn’t tamper with our freewill . We have misused our freewill through corruption and embezzlement of public funds, leaving our country without basic amenities and leading to the early death of our citizens.

Thank you Nezeville, for making us fully understand how Ada Ameh was born and lived her life. The report is well composed and arranged. I beg to ask if there was no man at all in her life? If there was, why was him not included in the report. I strongly believe that a parner (man) would have loved and helped her in her situation she found herself. Ada had been mentally and psychologically damaged from that early pregnancy. She was like a beautiful Dublex-building built on a weak foundation.

She mentioned in her last interview on "Your View" show at TVC, that she had a man in her life who she love and believed he also love her. Ada Ameh, May her soul rest in peace. Amen! There is a parable by my people, 'it is better to have a living enemy than a dead friend'. Life & Providence played Ada a difficult and complicated hand. Listening to your narrative there are many things which could have ended her life, even at the age of 13 years, its a miracle she survived this long. I'll say its a combination of spiritual, psychological, physical, emotional & psychiatrical factors, including bad company/relationship. Stay safe.

Is not spiritual attacks, this just proves to us as human beings that “there’s little to the level of pains our human hearts can bear”. Life is fragile, please brethren, let’s handle life with care and cautions. Ada’s pains was pilling up, her daughter’s death pushed out the whole pains of the other family members losses in heart lowly heart. That’s why Bible says “guide your heart with all diligence, for out of it flows the issues of life”. Ada grew up hard and tasted the very hard part of life which is not ideal for any human being to go through. The pain of early motherhood scares me so much as a teenager that I made a promise to myself never to experience the pains of “baby having baby syndrome” as my life was not having affluence nor wealth when growing up with my Mum. My Mum’s little salaries won’t allow that and little supports from relatives when growing up so I knew my life was going to be a double tragedy to welcome child early in my teenage life as the baby will not have much to enjoy but poor with hardship as I won’t have financial strength to nurture the baby. Most times teenager mothers rest on the only child their bore in their childhood or teenage age due to pains they experienced and this pains doesn’t life their lives forever !! RIP sister. Sleep on and rest from all your labour beloved sister. God bless and rest your soul. RIP dear Ada

@Nezeville, thank you for doing this. As always, you put great thoughts to your contents, and I so appreciate that about you. This is a way to honor someone 's memory. This is the best I have seen so far on social media streets. On the cause of her death, it's kind of hard to say that is something Spiritual (that's always our African thought), but I'd guess that it's a combination of mental health and medical. She was very open about that. Depression combined with alcoholism is a double whammy. Mental illness is basically one's way of dealing with life's challenges, and boy did she have a lot. It takes the grace of God to come out of traumatic situations like hers. I pray that God gives her mom & friend Empress the strength to bear this loss.

I think there's more to these deaths in the family than meets the ordinary eye. Definitely has nothing to do with 'spiritual'. An autopsy should be done on every deceased member of the family. The bodies need to be exumed and exert cause of death established in each case. Nothing should be left to speculation. Their DNA also need to be studied. It may give a hint to the remote cause of death, and, who knows, something may just be discovered that may help prevent similar deaths in some other affected families!

Mental health is beyond what we think it is o....It is associated with a lot of horrible symptoms, anxiety and always being apprehensive...fear of the unknown...I know someone who experienced this after loss of a partner, it took months of medical care and evaluations with serious deliverance to save her from death. If there is an underlying medical condition...that would also contribute to untimely death. We always pray God to keep us in his shadow always..'.Who no go no go know'

This sounds like a genetic disorder from the father's side of her family, since her mother has out-lived them all. From the time I heard of her death and those who had died in her family the first thing I said was this must be spiritual and for the fact that her depression and pain worsen when her daughter died, I would also say it's medical. She was brave and a strong woman with a good heart she fought a good fight, for enduring all this and she was still able to put a smile on her face for many will have committed suicide or so but yet she kept fighting I thank God for her brevity courage and strength to have pulled through this time.
