This is a very strong stand... but when you are right you are right. This EP was where "rock" music peeked. Not a week second, the sound of the drums, bass, guitars and mixing. To the songs themselves, the lyrics. Absolute perfection!

The most accurate description of living through the nightmarish, dystopian reality of the western world can be found in the lyrical content of Tragedy. Many years from now, after the great collapse and post revolution, their albums will serve as a testament to the trails and tribulations that humanity suffered through in this current capitalist hellscape. I hope one hundred years from now their records stand firm as a grim reminder of a horribly bleak past that no one would want to return to…but maybe that’s just wishful thinking…as the future continues to look more dark and less bright. There’s no telling what tomorrow holds but one thing is for certain, The Ending Fight will always be the greatest Punk song ever written. Let us have hope that their anthems will ring out like sirens until the last neck of the last boss is hung.

you must be dreaming if you really think 100 years from now someone will listen to this - the truth is you dont know, follow, like or even listened to whatever held the most similar spirit 100 years ago. Much less 200 years. But its fine, it still shapes, the moment counts.

Handcuffed and gagged, bled until dizzy Consumed with fatigue Acquired from years of crawling Closer to the edge of the abyss Only to be kicked in the knees Dismantled again Our eyes strained, their muscles stretched taut Teased by visions of escaped Viewed through narrow windows Of missed opportunity And windscreens of regret Disabled by morality imposed By those who would dispose of us Except that our last ounces of energy, Our last hopes generate their wealth Our last hopes keep us I wait And our waiting is our incarceration The waiting is our imprisonment

To never give up, to never give in Becomes a vision of impossibility A the bombardment worsens Narrowly defined roles now easier to play To never give up, to never give in To the incessant intoxication of the senses The allure of the machine Is a full time job without pay Fighting for survival Can we call it life? when the beating of hearts has ceased Can we call it life? with our days spent taking a beating Can we call it life? When our daze reeks of death Can we call this life?

What a brilliant EP. TRAGEDY do more with 3 songs than the vast majority of bands do over several albums. I've been late picking up on TRAGEDY but in a way I'm kind of glad because to me they're new & I've got all this brilliant music to get acquainted with. I'm looking forward to it .

Paul absolutely at his peak on this recording. Sounds like he had a lot of fun. The number of amazing fills in three short songs is mind blowing.

This is the end of the last days of mourning One more sad song will be sung The only children of the lost generation Are restless and angry and armed We've watched our loved ones Lose all life and passion Another lifetime is spent chasing The prospect of hope and salvation Wondering where all the early years went We won't be sold to our sellers One more sad song will be sung This chant of anger will ring out like sirens Until the last neck of the last boss is hung The end of the ruling classes The end of sleepless nights The end of taking orders The end of wasted lives the end... the ending fight

The TRAGEDY “Can We Call This Life?” EP is one of my most favourite audio anti-depressants ever since 2001. Still relevant, lyrically and musically!

More relevant than ever, prophetic really, no band better describes the American condition, saw our society very clearly and wrote this even before 9/11 at peak of prosperity. Apt description of things to come...

Fantastic band, when they came out I didn't like them as I was young and edgy and I thought they sounded like a mix of crust hc and The Offspring lol. Though it's no different from many Swedish bands many ppl disliked them for being melodic then. Now at 40 y.o. I listen to it with pleasure and feel the energy. They are more japanese hardcore punk than western HC, and with good catchy tunes. Lyrics here are childish and idealistic but really sincere.
@bschuler621611 ай бұрын
I am appreciating your view. It sounds authentic enough. Offspring? That is an offensive stretch. Whoa. Yes, the lyics are idealistic. But not childish. You're 40 years old. I'm a half decade older than you. I question the hill of adulthood, or mountain of experience, you think you stand on, based on your glib dismissal. Be vigilant of decay, We die each day!
@timppatimo62876 ай бұрын
@@bschuler6216 dismissal? No I just said I appreciate the lyrics as they are sincere. I mean I like innocent lyrics like this stuff nowadays. I exactly question the age wisdom and all that crap now, myself. Yes I was edgy 20 plus years ago so I though that d-beat thing must sound like Disclose and not more melodic but I was just wrong then (still cheerz to Kawakami wherever you are brother!!). Also after listening to japanese punk for decades I looked at Tragedy differently, I think they are the best american hardcore punk band.
@search89518 күн бұрын
I don't see the childish lyrics here. Songs are expected to express a feeling. For accurate serious thesis paper or microsoft word are better.
