Oltre i 4.000 TIR ci sono 8.000 auto in media AL GIORNO che transitano nello stretto che fa di messina uno dei più grandi porti del Mediterraneo per Passeggeri 11milioni, croceristi 500.000 sbarchi nel 2011, e sede di una flotta di traghetti con 6 compagnie che operano nel canale tra i porti di Villa San Giovanni, San Francesco, Messina, Reggio e Tremestieri. A questi si sommano tutte le navi petroliere per Milazzo, le navi container per Gioia Tauro e tutto il taffico crocieristico in transito, non ultimi sottomarini e altre navi da guerra. Un traffico INCREDIBILE. Considerato che Reggio ha adesso TRE facoltà Universitarie di cui due assenti a Messina (una decina di Facoltà), ecco che il flusso quotidiano tra le due Città diventa un AFFARE. Uno scafo veloce trasporta 380 passeggeri a carico pieno sono 380 posti X 3,5 Euro = per difetto possiamo valutare 1.000 euro a corsa, sono 15 corse totale 15.000 euro ME RC e 15mila RC ME totale 30 mila euro al giorno, X 30 giorni lavorativi, 900 mila euro.
