Not sure Pete Willis got fair treatment as Steven Clarke's second/third/fourth/fifth chance, but Pete locked horns with Mutt immediately because of the repetitious style of recording, and the band did not want to lose their producer. Pete had his vices and turned into a 5 ft mega giant when he got drunk, but the band really was on the bottle and also had their issues. I do not blame Pete for skipping the RRHOF, the man had said he retired from music and so he stuck to it.

Nahhhh.... I've heard lots of both! Hair metal was a look and sound! Very specific!! My fave sunset band is Mötley! They're above the hair metal status also. They had more than just RATT, POISON and the 1,500 other bands that flooded the rock scene to basically snuff itself out. I kno both of those bands very well and they're blehhh. No songs to where I was "OH MY GAWD!!! I gotta rock that again!" And hit back on the CD/tape or even if I'm drinking and rocking a YT playlist that's auto generated. Def were different, very different from the whole sound of the era. They composed pieces... not just wrote songs. Theres a MASSIVE difference between the 2 when you kno about making music. Composing is a deep dynamic way of writing. It snowballs. Write a song... it's a riff, you show it and the just bang it out in 25 mins.
