When I was a kid in September 1967 we were on KLM L-188 PH-LLB "Venus" BRU to STR, and were struck by lightning. Very large bang, and the cabin crew was totally freaked out.

That must’ve been very frightening and it must’ve been a vivid experience given that you remember it so well so many decades later.

Great content. My first " Model Moment". Of interest to me, because starting in the 70`s I travelled a lot between Canada and S America.

I’m so glad you enjoyed this installment of Model Moment. I’ve been producing these for a few years now and sometimes I go quiet for a bit but now I’m back. It’s a mood thing for me.

@@JetFlix About 1980 my travel agent talked me into flying Braniff LIM-YYZ with 3 or 4 station stops. The equipment had the "Flying Colours" livery

The Vickers VC-10 to your right caught my eye. My first international flight was on a BOAC VC-10. They served duck for dinner in coach. Those were the days.

LANSA had 2 incidents with a sole survivor! The other incident was LANSA 502 with the copilot surviving

The lone survivor, Juliane Koepcke, wrote a book titled I Fell From The Sky about her ordeal. Well worth tracking down a copy and reading.

I asked previously, but never received a response. WAs wondering if you could send me a link to the companies that you get your models from? Thanks In advance. ..one of your subscribers.

I’ve been collecting professional airline models for over 40 years. There is no one link to the source where I get them. I buy models from other collectors. I trade models with other collectors. I attend numerous aviation collectible shows in Europe and North America on an ongoing basis where I acquire models. Sometimes I find them on craigslist or Kijiji or eBay, plus I operate the aircraftdisplaymodels.com website which is also a source for contacts and models. So all of these outreaches in combination provide me with an ongoing network to buy, sell and trade professional aircraft display models. I hope this gives you some insight into how one spends a lifetime building such a collection.

No disrespect intended; would it be best to wear collector gloves to protect the finish when you touch the models

Yes, indeed that’s a good idea. I could wear the rubber gloves. They just wouldn’t look so good for the videos but it’s something I’ll consider. I always appreciate suggestions. Thank you so much.
