Tragic Train Wreck Leads to Chaos in Chicago Hospital | Chicago Med

The emergency department's grand opening is interrupted by an onslaught of crash victims, pushing hospital administrator Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) and her staff to their limits as they frantically work to triage and treat patients.

It's all hands on deck as newly hired trauma surgeon Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell), pregnant pediatrics specialist Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto), third-year resident Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss), military-trained Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee), nurse April Sexton (Yaya Dacosta) and head of psychiatry Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) must pull together to save lives. Rounding out the team is medical student Sarah Reese (Rachel DiPillo), who quickly learns some of the hard lessons that come with life in the Emergency Department.

If you’ve been a patient for most of your life, then you’re fed up with being a patient the rest of your life. I’ve been a type one diabetic for 53 years and literally some days. I don’t want any more needles that’s it. I’m done it’s over. You just get fed up with everything about it. You doing everything you’re supposed to your blood sugars are acting different. You try to correct them and they still get screwed up. Even taking oral medication I just sometimes just don’t feel like taking them and I’ll skip them for a day. I would like a break away from being me, the diabetic.
