Are you running the magicshine off the ebike battery and controller?
@LierskogenEbikes2 жыл бұрын
Hehe, I was thinking about that. In theory it's possible, since BAC855 has separate circuit for external lights. Problem is, you need to add two wires to CYC JST connector and controller can provide 6V and max 3W power. I stick to dedicated battery for lights. You can install separate transformator from battery voltage to 6V to supply the light. You can get them cheap on Aliexpress.
@liammcinerney55652 жыл бұрын
@@LierskogenEbikes ya I wish bafang, cyc, etc would beef up a separate circuit for some proper lights. Appreciate the reviews, I run a bbshd, love the power but a bit of refinement with a torque sensor would make this an incredible set up. Next build I'm going for a CYC X1 stealth. Happy riding!

that motor is so noisy. probably due to high motor rpm and straight-cut gears. ok when you feel like riding a motorbike, but disturbing when you're mountain biking... ofncourse the controller is much better than the bafang, as is the presence of a torque sensor. but the bafang bbs, if properly greased is sooooo smooth and silent.
@LierskogenEbikes3 жыл бұрын
The reason for noise are planetary gears. Other than that, it's great motor. I was riding with Bafang BBS02 2 years ago, never again. It's great motor for commuting only, when you ride with more or less constant speed. For trail riding it sucks. There is a reason why Bafang so heavily promotes M400, M500, M600 and M620 motors for eMTB's. All of them come with integrated torque sensor.
@JoLe19913 жыл бұрын
@@LierskogenEbikes honestly I can ride technical trails just as well with the bbs02 as with a bosch cx. as long as you keep cadence and have the throttle for emergency restarts, it's just fine, that is if it's programmed well. stock programmig is complete garbage. chain line is another point where life is easier with the cyc, but there are good solutions for the bbs02 out there. obviously not simple off the shelf stuff. The frame integrated motors from bafang require a special frame and are a lot more expensive for what you get. the m600 in particular is in my opinion killing the peace on the trail with it's awful gear sound. the last bbs02 I installed had new RC-style tidy motor windings and darker enamel coating, and sounded significantly "zippier". sure a torque sensor would not hurt, but I can live just fine without, in fact the throttle only gives me more control over starts in difficult situations

I haven't tested maximum range yet. It heavily depends on how hard you ride and where. I ride around hills with very ondulating terrain. The longest trip I had was around 50 km and there was still some energy left in the battery. Riding on level 3 most of the time, no gas.
