this may be a stupid suggestion as I'm sure you know this but you can adjust the stiffness of them shocks by turning that lower collar at the bottom of the spring you can see that little oval shape tab that is spot welded to the body of the shock and it's setting in a little groove well, when you turn that spring perch that has the grooves in it it pinches that spring tighter and makes for a stiffer shock. you could make the original set that came off of it super stiff with just a little bit of spring by turning that collar and it pinches that shock in on itself making it stiffer. Give me an indication you read this if you will like a thumbs up or something. Digging the show, I never miss an episode

If I ever get a mini bike this is the one to have. Sweet build. Just needs a bigger rear sprocket for more down low pwr!
@tebeardenkahboom16 жыл бұрын
P.S. there's a tool that grabs that lower spring perch collar that allows you to spin the collar and the little humps in that spring perch rest on that welded tab that's spot welded to the body of the shock and makes it stiffer. Sometimes when you buy those aftermarket reservoir shocks off eBay it comes with that tool. It's just a handle with a half circle that's as big around as your shock with a little nub sticking off of the end of it you hook the nub on that spring perch and twist and it rides in them little grooves to pinch that shock spring tighter or looser.

How did you guys replace to the 12 inch shocks without happening to do a chain adjustment? My chain is hitting the frame every time with the 12 inch shocks. Is it because you stayed with the stock sprocket?

Any thoughts on putting a chain tensioner on? If the tension is correct with the suspension unloaded then the chain is getting too tight when the suspension is compressed. If you land hard you'll likely end up breaking a chain.
@RedBeardsGarage6 жыл бұрын
We haven't had a problem with the chain. It gets looser as the suspension travels but it doesn't travel enough to kick it

The last set had a 'give coil set in the middle'for the comfort,but allot of tight turns for stiffness.Sweet set for the trails you do.

For a minibike, I really like the possibility of this being an adult size bike. The forks seem weak though, I've read elsewhere the same. Would you consider a fork swap? A set of custom triple clamps is all you'd need - and some donor forks.
@Firebird_8766 жыл бұрын
@Red Beard's Garage One thing that I would suggest for Lonnie's trail master is build some sort of body to cover up the empty space on the frame where the engine is at.
