Here's one comment to anyone watching this video, and this is by no means a criticism of those presenter or his content. This is only my experience speaking. Anyone who has ever tried to jack up a side by side using a scissor jack WILL NEVER EVER recommend a scissor jack to anyone. They are extremely difficult to lift a load with because there is so little mechanical advantage. A small bottle jack is by far superior, and if you use it at the corners, on the trailing arm right inside the rear wheel, or on the lower control arm just inside the front wheel you will have a far less exasperating time changing a tire. Sure the scissor jack may be easier to mount somewhere, but in actual tire change work on the trail, if you don't bend it or muck up the threads with dirt or mud you will certainly throw it on the trail and run it over in a fit of hatful rage after having used it. Put it this way. Using a scissor jack for a tire change is like using a crescent wrench to loosen you lug nuts. Can you do it? probably. Is it the worst tool for the job? Undoubtedly. If you think I'm wrong, go try it.

Thanks for watching and I appreciate the comment. I used a bottle jack for a while but you have to get a good size bottle jack to lift your machine high enough to change the tire. When I'd get a flat the jack it didn't fit under the frame so I had to dig a hole. And it still didn't lift the machine high enough to get the inflated tire back on, so I had to dig a hole under the tire. Then it broke and leaked hydraulic fluid all over my cargo box. So I switched to the scissor jack. You're right about them being difficult to use. But I added an adapter to it so I can raise and lower it with my battery impact driver or a ratchet/breaker bar if needed. It works well with this setup, but to be honest, I've only used it once... I don't get many flats.

Would you recommend the jump starter?? That's about the only thing im missing in my tool box
@westhigginsorv4 жыл бұрын
Definitely. The battery in my F150 was so bad it wouldn't even lock the doors. I needed to drive it about 30 miles with starts and stops to get it home. The jump starter started it 5 or 6 times along the way and still had most of the charge left. I bought the hard case for it too and that makes it a little easier to use and put away. I bet I use that more than anything else in my video.
