Alot of damage was done around here and the Mt. Rogers NRA is shut down plus well over half of the Blueridge Parkway has been closed since then.

Damascus is recovering ok but the Creeper Trail is lost.I don't know if they will rebuild it or not as the cost has been estimated at over two million dollars. Thanks for watching.

That's terrible! I'm glad that you are ok though! I didn't know the storm had come through that way. It doesn't make the big headlines here on the west coast of Canada. Are you busy helping out or is there stuff to do around your place from the storm? Keep well, Jim!

I had a tree that fell within a few feet from my home and we have been sawing it down and moving it out of the way plus a few other things. This is why I have fallen behind on watching videos. Thanks Age!

@@JimHayesHiking I was originally wondering if you were out on another hiking trail or something like that. KZbin videos will be there when you're ready for them and have time. I'm glad the tree didn't hit your home! Did it make a loud noise when it fell? Do you have a fireplace to use the wood once it's been seasoned?
@JimHayesHiking3 ай бұрын
@@agesadventures no fireplace. One of my sons-in-law took some of the wood and the rest is stacked up beside my house. We only got our power restored last night. Then today I had to replace the alternator on my car so it's been that kind of week.
@agesadventures3 ай бұрын
@@JimHayesHiking That's along time to be without power! Good thing you have camping gear to be able to cook with😁 Are you on well water or do you have municipal water for your house? I know when I was younger and we had a house that was on well water, if the power went out that meant the pump didn't work so we also had no water. Did you do the replacement for the alternator yourself or have to get a mechanic to do it? Hopefully, it wasn't some rare alternator!
@JimHayesHiking3 ай бұрын
@@agesadventures We are on county water system. I cooked with my backpacking stove and I replaced the alternator myself.
