TIP: Use an old brake pad to place on the pistons and then you can use one C-Clamp to evenly push the 2 pistons back in with ease at the same time!

I’m a young woman who just moved out on her own and my dad taught me how to do some basic things like change a tire and change oil, but now I live 2K miles from my dad and I’m doing my very first brake rotor replacement job on my own, so I really appreciate this video!!!

Like the video. I also took the caliper pins and greased them. I sprayed the rotor with brake cleaner to remove the lubricant that comes on them. 👍😁👍. Tnx. It was pretty easy.

Great video! Really enjoyed it! I also drive a 2007 Chevy trailblazer LS as my daily driver bought it in 2015 with 98,000 miles, now 2019 it has 155,220 & so far I’ve replaced a wheel baring, idle pulley, all 4 transmission lines, tie rod end, fuel pump, pads & rotors a couple times, frame has zero rust, it’s a South Carolina car it’s been a great ride & never left me on the side of the road, I plan on running it to 250,000, also live in northeast Vermont

Coming second half of 2018, Craftsman products will be available at Lowe’s . They are also sold at ACE hardware. Husky brand tools at Home Depot are very good tools also.

Also I own an 03 Trailblazer and I think I may have to do the slider pins in the calipers for now. Just found out today that the frame is starting to go just after the front wheels on both sides so I don't want to be putting much $$ into this vehicle. Im in the northeast also and been using oil and fluid film to help with rust. I thought this TB was in good shape when I bought it in June

I have a 2008 trailblazer and the guy says that I need my back rotors/brakes done. He said while doing the back I might as well do the front rotors. I bought my trailblazer brand new and looked up my receipts and did my front brake rotors in 2016 about 15,000 miles ago? I don’t want to do the front unless I have too, so does that sound about right? Some mechanics (not saying all) like to take advantage of people and do some work that doesn’t need done. I’m on a fixed income and don’t know what to do. Hopefully u can answer my question soon. Thank you for this video and for helping people out, saving them some coin.

Brother with the brakes you took off it did not stop okay before LOL. And actually you should use one of the old pads against your piston to push it in or you could damage your piston, and don't forget to clean packing oil off new rotors before installing new pads...just a thought..

Hello can I have the link to where you purchased the brake pads & rotors ?
@moparguy375 жыл бұрын
You can replace the guts on a ratchet. Napa sells them. Also they started carrying Craftsman sockets sets. Their Evercraft is made by the same manufacturer as Craftsman. You can spend the extra and get Carlysle.

Lowes and ace hardware honor craftmans warranty (after a good argument). I too like Huskys wrenches and sockets. Not a big fan of their ratchets. Unfortunately they are all made in Taiwan. Ultimately they do get the job done.
