Trailblazer won't go into gear - easy fix!

Had a senior get stuck at underground parking lot entrance due to this exact reason. Thanks for the vid for quick fix. These types videos mean a lot to folks that can google it up for quick for vs full tow cost. Appreciate it.

Thank you so much for this video. Totally worked 2005 Trailblazer in our case the shifter was locked. We left the car overnight in a mall parking lot. I watched your video at 1:30am. Next morning went to autozone paid $15.25 and drove home 5 minutes later. Thank you for sharing awesomeness.

Sorry. Always a balance on video between accurate and detailed video, and making people sick with motion on camera. That movement was a bit much so I cut it out. It’s on the drivers side of the transmission and you should see the cable come and hook up.

Mine will go into gear but it won't move.is there away that can be fixed without buying a new transmission

Are you sure it's going into gear? How do you know for sure? If it is, though, then yeah...sounds like at least a rebuild. Ugh..sorry.

Yes. I got the plastic part at Orillies. $18 bucks out the door. Well my 62yr old self got some cardboard, chalked the wheels, and for the first time in my life slid under a car. Lol. It took me about a hour because I had to cut wire off from a previous repair. I finally snapped it together in my hands to figure it out. Then a few more trys later and it snapped on! All one handed. Now daughter has a car again. Bless you

Did you have to Jack up the car to get to that piece?

Not really. I did raise it up a little bit because, well, I'm a big guy and had a hard time fitting comfortably under there, and do so with a camera. But just replacing it quick, probably don't need to.

What if it's stuck in reverse and I need it to be in park to crank it? Can it be pushed back into park by hand?
