*Trailblazers: Into the March* is a roguelite colony-sim that integrates tactical combat with the emotional journey of procedural characters. What the heck is this hidden gem of a game The visual design and general vibe of the game works so well, and then you have this super interesting siege combat with fortresses, it looks so cool! A roguelite that has the substance of a single player campaign, can't wait to try this out!

Excellent character design and as a fan of the Great Moebius, Alfons Mukha and Miyazaki Hayao, I like their styles mix here and a Nausicaa vibe, it is so charming. But the game art itself and the interfaces need some imperfect and textured approach, just a bit, at least I think so. The sound of the trailer is excellent too, btw, I like voices and music.

Hello ! I am the Game's Artist ! Thank you for your comment ! I have a ton of inspirations for the game, the big/obvious ones are Moebius/Zelda/Ghibli etc.. For the Characters portraits my main inspirations are the awesome design by Jen Zee for Hades but also the amazing work of Callum Alexander Watt !

Wishlisted. Hoping for more good news on this and getting really convinced to buy it at launch. I remember when I first bought Supergiant's Bastion, considering that wasn't even my preferred genre of games. Look at me now, buying their games at launch :D Good luck in developing this, it looks cute and grand at the same time. And stay indie. I just came from watching some industry stuff and... frak the big money. Sorry for the big studios, but my limited gaming money's going to indies now if I can.

We're currently wondering how to communicate efficiently with the community and KZbin seems to not be the greatest platform to do it. We have discord. And steam I guess? But where else do you gather your gaming news outside of that?

@@arnaud.stranger Constant updates on devwork that show steady buildup to the various phases would be one. I've seen how gamers will wait for a product to be made better on launch even if it means a reasonable delay. Plus, from a marketing perspective, it whets people's appetites. Not only are you showing things are moving along at a steady pace but you're getting people EXCITED about things they can expect from the game. Constant updates can also be a source of feedback. Like, feature a, uh, feature or game mechanic or character, and listen to the feedback. You don't have to do everything we say or demand, of course :D You know how gamers can be XD As for comm channels, what do your metrics show? Remove bots if you can (Facebook has SO BLOODY MANY) and look at where your "people" are. In Comms, you have to determine two important things, always: what's your objective(s), who do you want to reach/talk to? It's not even your Message: as McLuhan said, that can shift based on your medium, What's more important is why you're communicating and who do you want to comms to. Normally, for community building in game dev and biz, nothing so far beats Discord because at least you're sure a good chunk of your audience there are [a] real people, and [b] these are most likely the ones with the most interest in your product. But, Discord channels can be closed systems. So you need social media channels, too. Again, that's a question of metrics: where does your audience hang out? Go where they are and talk to them there, at least primarily. If you're an indie, you probably have a small PR/Marketing team, if any, so they need to be efficient and strategic with their actions (and budget!). And it's also the medium. YT, TikTok, and IG are visual channels. So if your Message is best conveyed in viz, then those are your channels. If it's a listing and explanation of features, might be better to do it in Discord AND Steam Updates. That latter goes directly to us gamers who Follow and/or Wishlist your game, I think. I get regular feeds from the ones I own. I think for a peg, you can't go wrong looking at how Supergiant did and does it. I've seen what they do from a PR perspective and those guys are not only amazing coders but also expert communicators. That docu on Hades was just amazing.
