No way! I guessed the HMF full exhaust with the HMF optimizer! My guess for the $100 gift card would be the Elka package deal for the shocks and the A-arms. The quad is really coming together and I’m loving it! Also, the green front hood panel looks amazing.

There is a hose beside your header that runs to the air box ,its an air assist to the exhaust needed for the stock exhaust to eliminate unburned fuel. You do not need this assist with the exhaust upgrade ..you can buy the adaptor plate that blocks that port and eliminate that hose going back to the air cleaner..great sound on the new exhaust!

I installed a dual full exhaust on my 700r (with a PCV) but didn't notice much difference with power. So, I installed a 734cc piston and a stage 2 cam and an auto tuner. Now it is faster but the biggest thing I noticed is what the cam is providing, low and mid range power. As I shift from first, second and third gears, the ATV wants to pop a wheelie. That's the most noticeable boost from stock.

Mister Trailblogger. Which exhaust you liked most. HMF or the Alba? Will be putting the Alba on mine when I get the flange this week.
@trailblogger
@trailblogger 4 жыл бұрын
Man I love the Alba but it is much louder. I'm positive the Alba is more free flowing but it is also extremely loud. I don't mind a loud pipe but if you have restrictions in your area or are limited by neighbors on private property the HMF is a nice choice with the silencer inserts / db killers they come with from the factory. The spark arrestor is also separate on the Alba, which is required. Here. Love the pipe though and Nates ECU tune is amazing for a canned, no dyno tune.
@trailblogger
@trailblogger 4 жыл бұрын
Are you going to be using an FCI intake? I think Nate mentioned he could write a tune for the FCI of someone lived nearby.
@FrankSanDiego619
@FrankSanDiego619 4 жыл бұрын
@@trailblogger No. Think I'm going to stay with the no lid. I'll give Nate a call tomorrow to talk to him about that. See what he says. I had the Velocity intake with the Alba exhaust and fuel programmer on my 2008. Was a BEAST!!! Many people have told me running a cloth type air filter let's sand in. Most of my riding is in the dunes. Possibly he might change my mind if it sounds good. I'll let you know how that goes after I talk to Nate.

@@trailblogger I had the pre filter on my 2008 as well. Talking to mechanics that break down and rebuild bikes all have told me, bikes with the cloth air filters had the worst sand damage. That's why I want to stick with the foam filter this time. My mind might get changed after talking to Nate.

Hey Mr. Trail blogger, I have a question... it’s necessary instal a optimizer? Or can I just install the motorcycle exhaust?
@trailblogger
@trailblogger 4 жыл бұрын
Best to use a programmer or ECU flash. In most cases the engine will run lean and hot from lack of fuel if you do an intake and exhaust mod. The engine needs the extra fuel to go with the increase air flow to operate safely. This is similar to adding larger Jets on a carburetor which is common when going to a more free flowing exhaust and intake system.

So, if i leave the optimizer plugged into the bike but unplugged from the battery and throw a stock exhaust on it, Will it hurt anything on my bike? this is so i can switch exhausts without removing so much stuff, like the gas tank and plastics. or will i just have to take the optimizer out completely?
@trailblogger
@trailblogger 5 жыл бұрын
Depends on the other exhaust. Most pipes need more fuel added than stock to keep it from running lean. It's always better to error on the rich side ( too much fuel ) than lean ( not enough fuel ). A lean bike will run hot and blow up, rich bike with usually just pop and backfire, run poorly.

So the numbers are at the bottom of the HMF website under the exhaust system but I didn't tune mine. It came pre setup.

Hey, what is the difference the between the hmf performance and the hmf competition?
@trailblogger
@trailblogger 4 жыл бұрын
I have the performance on my 08 and had the competition on my 19 before swapping to the Alba exhaust. The big difference on the competition seems to be they have 3-4 inserts depending on how loud you want it. I used the loudest setting.
@QuadBeast

@@trailblogger They different only inserts?
@trailblogger
@trailblogger 4 жыл бұрын
@@QuadBeast I'm not 100% sure what the other differences are other than the inserts. I'd check with HMF, sorry can't be more helpful. I liked having the quiet core inserts for stealth mode so i went that route.
