I watched most of your Great North Walk videos a few years ago when I was planning to hike it. Even though they are getting to the 10-year-old mark, they are the best GNW content on youtube, very concise with none of the BS others engage in. I ended up doing the Great North Walk twice, did it in 9 days northbound in September 2023, and 8 days southbound in May 2024.

@@damoddiver That's a great effort. Thanks for the nice comment. I would love to do it again, but sadly the old knees would longer allow it, so it is nice to look back on it.

Gutsy stuff. You've walked further than many have driven. How do you go about it? Do you walk while your wife drives ahead to the next planned campsite?

Where there was public transport available I used that, but in the northern half I drove to where I was starting, walked to a certain point and then retur,ned to the car, drove round to another point and walked back to where I reached and returned to the car etc., etc. So in effect, I walked most of it twice!
