HINT: paint the lower half of the walls inside, WHITE. put light colored sawdust/wood chips to COVER the floor. Horses dont see well in the dark/darker areas. I could BARELY see inside that trailer. Horses are PREY animals so they wont readily go into /be stable in dark areas. Put bright lights INSIDE the roof of the trailer to eliminate dark areas. my sister had trouble loading (keeping horse calm during) her horses until she did these things. ONCE she did these things, the horses wd load readily /stay stable DURING the tow, on the first try. when u start to tow with the horse in the trailer, turn the interior trailer lights DOWN but not OUT. SO MUCH EASIER....

I appreciate the thought but I have had many folks tell me their horse would not load, one had 'trainers' come fro 8 1/2 years with no success! One trainer told her to BUY a new trailer! She did! The next one said "It is TOO BRIGHT inside, you need to paint it Black!! She called me. We had him loading, just like this, in about 7 minutes. After 8 1/2 years! She was stunned. Happy, but also felt all the other 'trainers' had failed her, and they had! The horse just needed to be taught to go where he was told and to THINK as he went. Dark, Light, Black, White, Pink, Lights, No Lights... None of that matters. At our old place I had a BLACK BOX!! 4'w x 8'H x 10'D, no windows, painted Black! Taught horses to load into that!
