Not likely, people have been killing tigers for many different reasons for multiple millennia before the book came out. As soon as humans and tigers met, they've killed each other. Tigers killed people mainly for food, sometimes in self defense. Humans killed tigers usually in defense, but also for food, and for their pelts, as well as in defense for their livestock.

This movie’s CGI is really poor but the tiger looks mid and the jackal has too many facial expressions similar to humans and that’s why the jackals the ugliest CGI creature to ever exist

It wasn't though the truth is the entire species of Tigers and Bulls with other animals absolutely despise humans and hunters and want to kill them out of hatred cause of how destructive and evil they are Shere Khan was never evil only trying to kill a younger evil who would destroy and murder everything from the animals to the planet itself Khan was only defending himself and his kind if he was targeting me I would done everything I could to save him I mean even other species of animals have grudges against other animals I except I could never hate them no not animals however I especially don't like people either
