Thinking back to Mike's episode with that attack side grinder made me shudder at the thought of the trouble he could get into with that portable band saw. (just a foolish joke. These guys are each skilful experienced craftsmen of the highest order! ) I'm 76 now but my job included an aspect of metal fabrication. No way near the detail, precision and sophistication of these guys and I appreciated the little tutorial Mike gave on how to size that pipe. I wish I would have known that method long ago.

I do that same thing on our 9" grinder.. When the chop say disc starts getting too small.. I can still use it on the 9" grinder as a great cutting wheel. The center wasn't the right size, but I just fabricated a simple washer that fits into the larger chop saw hole, to act as an alignment bushing and it all gets sandwiched like normal. I just made it in a pinch one day and it worked so well that I've used it ever since.. You get a second use out of your worn down chop saw blades.. I'm pretty thrilled about that.. lol
