Trails in the Sky: Quickstart + Voice Patch Guide

Patch files for all three Trails in the Sky Games:

This method will not conflict with other mods!
Volume files have been edited for the best user experience!
FOR STEAM DECK / LINUX: Click on the gear icon for the game, hit 'Properties' then in the General Tab there is a 'Launch Options' textbox where you'll copy+paste the following command:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%
(and make sure there's a 'space' before %command%)
FOR GOG: launch the game directly from the .exe in the game folder or desktop shortcut. If you launch from GOG Galaxy App you have to turn off Overlay feature.
To turn off overlays, in GOG Galaxy App select the game, to the right of the play button, click the menu button, go to "Manage installation" then "Configure." then go to "Features" tab and uncheck Overlay "Access GOG Galaxy features in-game" otherwise the game opens and closes on GOG.
Enjoy your time with these games. no rush!

Actual holy grail of tutorial videos, I looked up a reddit thread as I forgot how I did it for FC, but it seemed more complicated than I remembered. Then I remembered your video, which is a million times easier (and beats the usual best way, a helpful reddit comment - rather than a 20 minute youtube tutorial). Thank you so much for this video and also for providing the files! was having a hard time battling myself through several tutorials and i wish google would show this video as the first solution out there ;n; Edit: For everyone having problems downloading the files. The website didn't load for me for a long time. I tried it again at a later time of the day and it immediately worked. The download for all files as one was up to 24 hours for me. So I decided to download each one at a time and it was only about 30minutes each. Still slow, but I don't mind waiting for a bit.

For those fortunate enough to get their hands on a steam deck, there is also the possibility to run the voice patch with an extra step in which you need to input this command on the properties after dragging the files to the right place " WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command% " in the properties and the voice patch should work just fine.

I subscribed ages ago because I intended to play through the Fire Emblem series. I still have not started, now planning to start near the end of next year, and I am thrilled to see this guy (who I thought I would watch a lot) make a video about my favorite game series of all time. I plan to replay them all starting in January, playing straight through such that I finish Trails of Cold Steel IV when Trails into Reverie releases. That will be the first time I play the Sky trilogy with voices.
