I'm actually quite torn over this. I feel like the first one did an excellent job of showing ALL the elements of the game (including some characters that seem insignificant but turn out to be really important later) and I like the instrumental music better but the second one has better animation and I like seeing all those moments with Estelle and Joshua. You get a better sense of their relationship which is one of the core themes. So I really can't decide which opening I like better.

Evolution's version of FC's opening completely feels, to me at least, very somber and downright depressing. The original felt very upbeat, exciting, happy, action-packed, frivolous, important, adventurous and other qualities that could describe Estelle. Very easy victory for the original for me. Actually, come to think of it, I feel like the original is sort of like Estelle's opening for the game, and Evolution's is sort of Joshua's, judging by the feeling that I get from each of them. I guess it's no surprise that I love the original more because I am A LOT like Estelle.

hmm i think the new one was made with the idea that people will understand the dynamics of estelle and joshuas relationship, while the first one is more tame. I prefer the old one

I only played Sora no kiseki fc and sc. I preferred fc although sc was also good. FC really really did well in building up the characters which by the end of SC, I am sad that the character development kind of dropped, and I loved how light-hearted fc felt compared to sc. Makes me feel nostalgic even though I just played fc last year.

Wow, the new opening doesn't fit at all xD The original opening gave a sense of adventure, it felt like the beginning of an amazing journey (basically what the game is about), but the Evolution opening is more melancholic and sadder, and fits better as the ending of the game.

The Evolution OP (including animation, music, art and direction) is objectively better. Wish it would've shown all the characters evenly, not just so much of Joshua/Estelle, but the pros vastly outweight the cons.

Evolution opening is much better, probably because the original one is a product of its time and doesn't quite have equal production value. Almost no animation, some rather nothing shots just to showcase every character (Zin's shot especially feels awkward), the music and visuals not matching... But I don't really like Evolution's artstyle. One of the things I liked going from FC to SC and that there was a tangible sense of growth, that the characters who were kids in FC are now a little bit older and closer to adulthood. And in many ways it is a story about that, so it kind of sucks to lose that.

the original OP does it's job of establishing (ALL) the party members and important side characters, and giving you the feeling that you're about to experience an epic adventure while making you look forward to what's to come.The Evolution opening first of all seems to forget that Agate and Zin exist seemingly because they're not waifus or Olivier. and secondly goes out of it's way to flash nearly every plot relevant event (orphanage fire, orbal shutdown phenomenon, Lorence fight in the martial arts tournament, THE BALCONY SCENE) like it assumes that the average gamer won't give the game a second look unless the OP is a complete TLDR list of the whole plot (SC EVO OP does this too but WORSE). It's honestly awful.
