I don't know if it's just because I know a girl who's just like Musse with the teasing in real life or something else but all I know is that this girl totally stole my heart since the very beginning. While playing CS3, before knowing who she really was, I kept on hoping that she was not like Crow in the first game (some sort of terrorist). When I discovered the thruth I felt very reliefed. It's true that at the beginning she used Rean for her own purposes, but in the end she grew up and took out the "normal girl" style that was within her. every time I'm watching this bond event I really feel jealous because I want to be Rean and hug her the way he does. Since the moment when she asked "who is the like lady" I'd like to interrupt her and say something like "damn it!! It's you the lucky lady. YOU and only YOU, not Alisa, not Juna, not everyone else but YOU. Is it clear?".

Looking at how Musse was classing herself as a rotten girl in the final bonding event, that wasn't true. Even though she was initially using him as a pawn, the fact that she stood by Class VII and ditched her "Lady Mildine" identity proved that she did have loyalty towards the group. Even though this meant pitting her against "Mille Mirage", she still stood by her allies during that time. The only 2 things she did which were foolish were the 2 times she planned her suicide - the first on the Pantagruel, and carrying the orbal pistol on her in case things got...out of hand Still, she got what she predicted. Only difference, they weren't tears of sorrow

I think this is my favorite, I mean Altina's was great too, not for the romance bit, but for her to finally accept herself fully was a great scene. Still think Musse became one of my favorite characters. (I really wish they didn't try to trow Alisa down your throat at any given oppertunity in the main story, glad they finally stopped doing that in CS4)

Yeah it's annoying. Japan has a habit of strongly pushing you in a certain direction even in games where we are supposed to be choosing our own romantic interests. Still, while the dev team doing the equivalent of constantly nudging us and saying "please pick Alisa" can get old they at least didn't force us to actually pick Alisa. Nothing frustrates me more than being presented with a choice in a game, only to find out that a canon choice has already been determined and the decision I made isn't even really being considered.

I didn't care for her at first, but this smart, sexy and classy duchess really won me over I have sort of the same headcanon about her that I do about Crow, where him saying that his laid back persona he showed to Class VII was just a lie is actually because he believes he doesn't deserve that kind of life. Mildine believes she serves a greater purpose, and tries to deny that at heart she is just a normal girl, trying to shoulder all that burden herself with a smile and a cheeky remark. Juna somewhat gets through to her when they reunite in Act I, but not until this moment do we see the facade come crashing down as she faces all her feelings, that while she may be a remarkable genius who holds the fate of the world in her hand, she's also a regular girl who likes tea and clothes and of course, her instructor. And God damn is it adorable
