Train 18 | VANDE BHARAT EXPRESS | RDSO Speed Trial

The third and improved rake of Train 18, after completing a 180 Kmph speed trial successfully, was handed over to the Ahmedabad division. Today, the RDSO team conducted a 130 Kmph speed trail on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai-Ahmedabad section. Post getting a successful certificate, this train will be inaugurated between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. Summary of Speed trials ADI -MCT-ADI of VB rake on 09-Sep-22.
Ahmedabad-Mumbai: ADI departure at 07:06 and MCT arrival at 12:16. 492 Km in 5:10. Also, after starting at 07:06, owing to an instrumentation issue, the train stopped & resumed at 07:25. So if the above, 19 mins are shaved-off, ADI-MCT was done in 4 hrs. 51 mins.
Mumbai -Ahmedabad: MCT departure at 13:10 and ADI arrival at 17:55. 492 Km was in 4 hrs. 45 mins. The running time between ADI-MCT of 5 hrs. was also achieved. During testing, the rake achieved 100 Kmph speed in 52 seconds beating bullet trains which take 54.6 seconds.
