Hi, I'll visit Prague and Vienna this coming November and planning to try regiojet train (business tariff). Am I allowed to bring a luggage weighing 25-30 kilos? Yep, you can. No worries for that. Just try to be one of the first boarding the train so you'll find a place close to your seat. 😊👍 NO additional cost, of course.

Nice work. That's funny that they distinguish between economy and low-cost classes, as economy literally means low cost. When the train left I only saw 2's on the sides. Is business class also considered 2nd class? The first coach said low-cost under the 2, but I could not read the other ones.

In Regiojet trains there are 4 classes: low-cost, economy, relax and business. The number 2 that you've seen I guess was the carriage number, nothing related to the ticket class of the carriage.

Right now they are building a completely new bus station. After that, they'll start with a huge revamp of the train station. It will be something similar to Praha's. Wow fast reply :) I'm from Scotland but been working on a project in SK for 3 years in Orava region. God yes the bus station, as bad as the train station. I'm just amazed they hadn't already put them right, it is the capital city. What does impress me are the RegioJet and LeoExpress trains, privately owned but cheap and very good quality. When I compare them to trains in the UK, for quality, service and value for money, these 2 Slovak/Czech companies are in a much higher league.

Oh! So you were really close to Poland :) I'm from Spain but my girlfriend is from Bratislava (that's the reason why I travel to SK so much). I've never been in the Orava region. The closest I've been was in Liptovský Mikuláš a couple of times, specifically in Tatralandia (a great resort-aquapark). Last Christmas I went to Poprad with the ZSSK Intercity and the experience was also great. By the way, I'm Lucas. :)

Hi Lucas, when the weather is warmer I go cycling, part of my route often takes me into Poland. I'm right next to the northern side of the Tatry mountains, can see them from my window. If you and your girlfriend ever want to visit Orava, I can show you around. Right now is not cold, the snow is melting, everything is slushy. Not like last winter, minus 30 celcius at one point, thought I was going to die. Funnily enough, I will probably live in Spain next, have some family there. I speak Italian, so learning Spanish shouldn't be too difficult.

Yes! I remember last winter in SK. I was in Bratislava for a week (around new year's eve) and I remember that it was very cold. So if in BTS was cold in Tatras... pff haha We like the Tatras a lot. We went there on last summer for 3 days for trekking. We went to Lomnicky Stit and those places. It was one of the best trips I've ever done; a complete disconnection with the daily stress. Also, we go every winter to visit the Ice Cathedral in Starý Smokovec. That was the reason for the trip I've uploaded a few weeks ago, from Bratislava to Poprad. If you know Italian, Spanish will be very easy! :)

Si tienes en cuenta que el Alvia Galicia va por algunas partes (bastante extensas) a velocidades entre 50 y 80 km/h, pues sí, es más rápido... La velocidad del tren es 160 km/h, llegando a 180 km/h en algunas zonas. Si lo comparas con el AVE, pues es bastante más lento. Ahora bien, si lo que comparas es el ambiente a bordo, los precios y el servicio de restaurante... no hay color.

Más rápido que el AVE desde luego que no. Más rápido que el Alvia, en muchos tramos sí... (este mantiene los 160-180 contantes a lo largo de todo el trayecto). Dicho eso, el servicio a bordo es infinitamente mejor que en cualquier producto de Renfe (Transcantábrico a parte).

Ahí está, en determinados trayectos sí. En cualquier caso, para mi, el tren no va a poder competir nunca en velocidad con el avión. Lo que debería ofrecer el tren es, evidentemente, un servicio rápido (no tiene porqué ser 300km/h), pero fundamentalmente una experiencia de viaje distinta. La que ofrece Renfe deja muchísimo que desear.

Nadie quiere tener niños gritando y corriendo por los pasillos durante un viaje de 5h. Me parece muy acertado que tengan esa sala. Es una marvilla. En este tren nunca tendrás a un niño llorando a gritando cerc tuya. Siempre están jugando en esa sala con otros niños.
