Train History: Class 365 (1994 - 2021)

In this video I go through the history of British Rail Class 365 from 1994 until its retirement in 2021.

Original cab fronts were the best imo, I am biast to the 465s and also being in the southeast haha.

The smiley face looked good with the fcc livery, the great northern colour change at the front sort of ruined it for me. Other than that these were great units, only got to ride them 4 times before they were scrapped .

I’m glad the East Kent railway preserved 3 coaches from 365524, sad the rest were scrapped.

​originally, unit: 365525 was supposed to become a royal mail train coz this is the only 365 to be fitted with ETCS, however it didn't went to frution. And as of result she was taken to Newport to be scrap

Does anyone know why the Class 365s got a purple front in 2020?

Back in 2019, Great Northern features this type with a purple front in order to reduce reflection of the train against the DOO screens, allowing drivers to see the monitors more clearly and easily. Unit: 365511 was the first to receive it

Not been on one, but based off how the 465/9s have turned out, I'm kinda happy I didn't go on one 🤣🤣I wouldn't want a creaky ride at 100mph should they be at a similar level (and they were made from a 465 bodyshell so...)

They were ok at 100mph from what I can remember, at least on the decent track of the ECML. Not sure if that would have been the case on SR tracks..

@@soundseeker63 And to be fair I was being a bit harsh on the 465/9s, they are generally really quite good ride quality wise and much better than 707s/375s/377s

Class 365s were sadly scrapped in the year 2021 is now believed to be 2 previous years ago this year. Perhaps 🤔 it’s stupid thing to happen. Why can’t class 365s live a lot longer until perhaps 🤔 the year 2034 or beyond. Sad 😞 😔 😢 really because it’s probably an embarrassing 😳 🙈 waste of life to happen. All class 365s have 1st class accommodation and a toilet 🚽 🚻. Do you know what, I honestly like 👍 trains 🚊 very much, They make me happy 😊. I think 🤔 that the railway 🚃 passengers felt a bit to plenty of upset 😢 😭 😠 that the class 365s were withdrawn had previously been part of BR - British Rail. Thanks 🙏 a lot that class 365s went to the scrapyard. That’s bloody brilliant 🤩. I want class 365s back in service as they haven’t done any damage to people in the past. Oh well, it’s water 💧 under the bloody bridge 🌁 🌉 and it’s too late ⏰ to bring back class 365s back to service again. Never 👎 mind. That’s probably life. It’s honestly heartbreaking 💔 ❤️‍🩹 thing to happen. Rest in peace ☮️ ✌️ class 365s. 👍 👍 😀 😃 😄 😁
