Solder the track straight then curve it until it hits another straight section and make the join there. Trust me, it looks like more work but it's far simpler and you're will thank yourself for avoiding the "near impossible without swearing technique" I've been building layouts since the 1950s and have pain painstakingly attempted all the mistake I could possibly find. Love the layout BTW !

Flex track should never do as you describing as you curve it for the radius unless of course you desire a banking curve for more realistic effects that you desire you should hold, VERY FIRMLY one 1 in both rails and ties at either end, before you begin to curve it with your thumb so neither rail peace will move from the original place of flex track first determining where you want the EVEN start, straight track to be according to your bends YOU NEED TO WIGGLE THE TRACK BACK AND FORTH SO ONE RAIL WILL SLIDE IN THE TIES AS YOU'VE BEEN THE RADIUS. The manufacturing of the rail and tie is an injection mold process and the rail can be stuck any place on the ties on any piece of flex they need to be broken free over the rails THIS WILL TAKE THE STRESS OUT OF THE RAIL SO IT WILL NOT BOW GO UP AS YOU'RE DESCRIBING YOUR ISSUE YOU HAVE TO WIGGLE IT GENTLY TO GET IT TO BREAK LOOSE FROM THE TIES AND SLIPS INTO THE NEWFOUND RADIUS, ACCOMPLISHED FIRST MUST WIGGLE A LOT TO BREAK THE TRACK LOOSE FROM THE TIES. When you got the track in the position where you want it and matches the existing track if it's there you can overlap each other and cut them at one time with a razor saw to get a perfect fit. If one rail is too short on one end and you desire it to be longer hold both of them together and curved the flex from the opposite ends towards that end and tell you gain the link that you need and then press again firmly both rails so they do not move and slowly straighten out the flex track back to the curve or straightness. You can do another way fastening the end to the surface with some tack nails and use a brass hammer and tap the end of the one rail that you want and it should through the ties Another method simply is to hold the flex with both hands apart and continually bend it back and forth until all the tires are broke free of the rail then you can readjust the rails to fit where you need and cut the fit when you get it down together. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR INDEVERS 🚂
