Great video! A couple of questions: 1) I can never get a good look at the Landwasser River--is it flowing in the same direction the train is moving, or against it? I think it's flowing with it, but am not sure. 2) At 13:43 -- this is the first time I've seen an actual blocking device on a track (the orange half-barrel on the siding). Seriously, how effective could such a thing be against an engine? Wouldn't the engine just cut right through it? 3) Has anyone ever tallied the total value of Swiss rail infrastructure? Rails, stations, tunnels, viaducts, electrifications and rolling stock? A back-of-the-envelope calculation that I did came up with 120 to 200 trillion euros (that's US trillion, viz.: 1,000,000,000,000 = 1 trillion).

Aha! That little section around Wiesen I am going to build as a model... 🤓
@yvindascanius60614 жыл бұрын
That model will be awesome!
@frankkleij91494 жыл бұрын
complete with the Landwasser viaduct . close before Filisur you can see it down in the valley.
@R1door4 жыл бұрын
@@frankkleij9149 Yeah! There's a lot of kits available for it, most of the buildings around the station, there's even a company that makes both the Wiesener and Landwasser viaducts, although they are scaled down a bit but still around 1 meter in length... From about 18:24 till 20:11 I am planning to build, around 6 meters in H0 scale :-) And then on the other side Ill build the section before the Landwasser viaduct to close the loop...
@R1door4 жыл бұрын
@@yvindascanius6061 The section around Wiesen captures well what the RhB is all about, but there are too many to pick! This one is not too complex yet stunning! ill try to do it justice...

A small suggestion to improve readability of the text overlays: If possible, add a black outline to the text in future videos. That greatly improves readability against bright backgrounds. Aside from that this is a really nice video :) More please!

I'm going to use a thicker font for the next videos :)
