Train Shoving Across Railroad Crossing, Storm Knocks Out Electricity, Railroad Switching Near Cinti

Train With locomotives in push pull mode on Ohio short line railroad reverses into customer. Awesome railroad crossings, train horn action and severe thunderstorms. This is the Cincinnati Eastern Railroad CCET with classic locomotives in Top And Tail mode. First we see them in the S curves in Williamsburg, Ohio going past the bagged Norfolk & Western Signals. Then the storms come and lightning takes out a transformer on a pole about 500 feet from me. All of the electricity in the area went out. Huge downfalls lasted only a short time and then we see the train reversing into Mount Carmel Group and Huhtamaki near Batavia, Ohio. I watched the train go through the gates and then I went to get some gas since I hadn't got any since I last refilled at Saint Marys, West Virginia. The pumps didn't work and the electricity was still out at the store and the entire area. The train crew had to switch Afton Yard in a big downpour and then do some switching at their customers on a Friday afternoon. Due to the storms they probably got back later than they wanted and their weekend started late for them. That is a downfall of working for the railroad. I was in my truck listening to them talking on the radio while they were trying to work in a downpour. It rains in Ohio way too much! I have a tree laying on my fence that I have to cut up and my swampy yard needs the grass cut. I'll have to repair the fence once again to prevent the animals from running loose so no railfanning this weekend. Lol. Filmed July 16, 2021AD. Thanks for watching! I was hoping to see whether the signal maintainer had kept the grade crossing backup batteries up to snuff ... lol. I don't know what they use today, but when I was working as a maintainer on old Penn Central parts of Conrail in Michigan back in the late 1970s, they were mostly 1-volt Exide lead-acid and some looked like they were from the 1930s or 40s. Lots of old stuff on the old PC lines back then. Mushroomed rail like you wouldn't believe. PC literally ran them into the ground. But I digress. Thanks for listening ... lol ... and thanks for the upload.

@@JawTooth We have not had any measurable Rain for over a 1.5 months, and we had that Heat Wave where it got to over 100, three Days in Row, and this is the Seattle Area, where it's known as the Rainy Area of the Nation, and we still have half the month of July & all of August & September yet to go. And it's this way all up into BC Canada & as far South as Mexico.

To save money repaint it a darker blue with the RR logo even if that doesn’t match other units. Many roads do this.
