One thing I always find with these games is that the tutorial teaches the very very basics and then you’re on your own for the rest of it! Majority of the missions are things you’re never taught, it’s just idiotic! Also wish it had a true free roam mode instead of just schedules being the closest you can get to free roam

I was never able to figure out how I was suppose to get this thing moving. Deleted the game after not being able to figure it out but wanted to see why the fuck I couldn't get it going. Glad the game was free and I didn't pay for it. WHy in the fuck did they not say what to do in this mission? There is no way for a new player to be able to figure this out.

Yea I found there was a large jump between the previous tutorial and this tutorial, there is a lot unexplained, which completely eliminates the point of it being a guided tutorial. Kind of odd game design. Eventually I figured it out though, this is something I enjoy nonetheless.

This helped me avoid the oncomming train, thank you! :) beeing a real train driver I also would like to advise you to control the train from the front end rather than the middle facing the cargo waggons. Bosses tend to get really cranky otherwise.

I do not understand how this can be the ~4th tutorial or so when almost none of this has been covered. The only yard switching we did was another incredibly frustrating tutorial where you had to get out and switch yourself, but until you got there, there was no indication. Time and time again I cruised right on past until I failed. Just no info whatsoever. The models are great and the detail seems spot on, but they really really really need to fix the tutorials. Maybe it's just me though. Maybe total and complete train newbs are not meant to play this. Even how you get the locomotive moving is slightly different than the tutorials (for one, they never covered having two locomotives together and what that might mean as far as what you have to do).

@@gabemangini2689 You need to change the tracks all by yourself, becoz you were crashing onto the other train... check the track that connects to the coaches and change the tracks accordingly (Fun Fact : It took me 3 Whole Days to figure it out and complete this Mission !!)

I figured it out! Press #9 to get to the Route Map , then press M if needed (do not press esc as you cannot make changes from the other route map menu) Then click the arrows where needed to ensure the white lines of the tracks align for the blue path/entire route to destination . Do this before you start moving the train! It is hard to see the change so you may need to zoom in. They do this to create a puzzle. This game needs better manuals/tutorials.

New to the game, this helped out a bit. There was a big jump from the first tutorial... like okay you finished basic algebra here's different equations good luck! The switches did not change on the map for PS4. I had over run them and had to back track. Not sure if that was a glitch or what.

It took me a bit of work to start (I couldn't make it walk), but following your instructions I managed it. I know this is silly, but I'm trying to change the switches on the map. It lets me see the route, but does nothing when I press A. I can't set up the route by map. I have to do it manually at every junction 😐

I thought that as well but you have to access the map from in game, not from the menus, what I mean is on Xbox I hit the button with the 2 squares and that takes me into the map without pausing the game. If you hit the menus button and then scroll down to map it pauses the game not letting you change them. If that’s confusing let me know and I’ll try to re word it lol

hi, i need help, i recently bought the game on ps4 and i am stuck after hooking up the 8 wagon train.after hooking up the wagons I start the train. I use reverse and then throttle, the brakes are released but the convoy does not move. if I release the 8 wagons the locomotive starts. what should i do to start the locomotive with the wagons? If you really want the headlights on in the other cab, you also need to set the switch in there so they are controlled from your lead cab. Once this is done, and you've set your own switch to control the long end coupled cab's lights, use the rear lights setting to switch them on. Shame no bonus points for doing this shit!

@@AntonioBanderasTheKing No, it doesn't tell you. That's a BIG oversight of the tutorial. As brink said, hit the 9 key and switch the tracks on the map that pops up so the blue line for each switch goes to the blue line of the track. You're actually getting on the wrong track.

Howww, when i hooked up to the carts.. i did nothing but spin wheels after that ☹️…. But i got it to moving. Soo i did. Then i stopped it 16 YARDS from the location. And i couldn’t get it to move forward at all even tho it was a decline. Explain😐lol. I literally quit at just 16 yards from finishing the dang mission and now have to restart

i finished all the journeys and training the introduction of sand patch grade the ac4400cw gp38-2 sd40-2 introduction and turntable and yard switching and coal loading now is just left to do the scenarios the helping hand and more including powering america and timetable ac4400cw gp38-2 sd40-2 y101 morning delivery morning bowl switching eastbound delivery switching to q375 and then take the q375 from cumberland all the way to willard

The switches aren't good if that's happening. both ends of the purple line on each switch need to line up with the green track you want to be on. There are a few you need to switch to put you on a different line than the one that other train comes in on.

Then you didnt try everything. You got to tap the touch pad (if ps4) to show the map and manually switch the tracks. Blue line on the track indicates the proper route to go
