Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul Gameplay (No Commentary)

A big, big thank you Dovetail Games for letting me do this video on it. I can't cover everything in one video. In this video, I show Service Mode, AI Trains, Coal Loading, GE AC4400CW, EMD SD40-2, EMD GP38-2, Cumberland's Turntable, and refueling.

I wasn't so hyped about this new train sim because since railworks back in 2007 they were selling the same game just a bit better every year. But man, the level of detail in this is amazing! TSW is a truly BIG change int train simulation!

Imho, the game is very nice looking but lacks in a few areas. Namely sounds and physics.

DT blew there wad on CSX. It's almost a game unto itself. The lighting, reflection, texture, scenery, weather, ect. hasn't truly been duplicated on any other TSW release. There's a reason for that. It's expensive. Why the hell DT would pick CSX out of all the other less evil American railroads is up for conjecture. Again probably comes down to money. CSX did what BNSF wouldn't do. DT was only giving us suckers who blow a lot of money at this company, a peek at what Unreal can do. TSW2028 is gonna be awesome.

DTG really needs to step up their sound quality. Why in the world would they use the same horn for the AC4400 that they use on the SD40? Hopefully we'll be able to edit and replace with sound mods. Other than that it looks great.

So, how's the performance? The DTG livestream did not tell much (as much as everyone was all like, "they did noting to improve performance >:(" I think they were trying to create a fuss as I saw no evidence of good or bad FPS). It is only a 30 fps stream after all.

Mixed in my honest opinion. In Cumberland Yard, and the city area. It drops as low as 18fps as high as 28fps. But once you get onto the actual route, it is more or less stable at 35 to 40 fps in dry weather. My card is only a 960. I would expect some fps gain with a better GPU. They have actually done a lot of optimization. The last numbers I looked on the CPU was 70% and 99% on the GPU.

Oh good, at least it is not like the beta where it was not using all of the power that the computer has. The 1080 on the fancy computer was never hitting very high load because of the CPU bottleneck, which looks like it has been fixed if you are hitting 70% on the cpu.

idk if this will be seen, but I highly highly doubt there's any other simulator that has that much work and detail put into it, I can remember that other game, I think its xplane 10 I believe, but far as detail goes, this is the best, like 98 or 99% of everything works on this game, cant wait to get a fast enough computer to play it, I've been into trains since I was 2, if I play this before I head off to training I bet it wouldn't be that hard, this should be part of the training in the actual train career, but this is amazing!!!

Thankyou for uploading, game looks great. Quick question: Are you able to climb the stairs on the coal loading platform at Shaw Mine ? The stairs appear to start on the other side of the fence...so are you able to cross that fence ?

How did you get the Interior Engine Sounds??? On mine, When I am in the Cab, The Exterior sounds is all I hear!!

When controlling the train, don't go into free cam or exterior cam. Just stay in the cab and you'll be fine. That's at least what I did in the beta.

Yup, trains take a bit to stop now. It's certainly an improvement.

EOTD is there in the game. I don't have a clue how to put them on trains though.
