Think it wasn’t so much FCCs decision but that of Network Rail as extending the platforms at Farringdon for 12 car trains would result in the junction being blocked

Just had a quick google and it seems quite a few of the Northern units still have their front valance, it seems the /3s still have it whilst the /4s don't

Takes me back - used to use these every day to go to college in the 1990s. Any chance you can do another APT sim but on the East Coast Main Line, or even a speed run (to see what it can top out at) on a line other than the WCML? Trouble with the 'lounge' areas on the 319 class variants was that it was right next to the loos (rather smelly in my experience!).

Idk about 319s but modern EMUs are often slightly slower on DC mode due to current limits on the 3rd rail supply. Ever notice how the power meter on the 450 never goes up to 100%?

A button that prevents the DSD alarm from sounding, meaning the driver can quickly take a wizz on the secondman's side without the train coming to a grinding halt bc his/her foot isn't on the DSD pedal.

I flipping love this train even in real life! It's a shame thameslink got rid of 319s since they were my childhood trains and my favorite since I lived on the midland mainline. I like 700s but prefer 319s because 700s are boring in my opinion.
