My late Grandfather who was an LNER driver told me about the iron viaducts on this route ( I had mentioned trestle bridges in Western films). I later found out that the engineer who constructed them was the same engineer who made the original Tay Bridge. Obviously the disaster which ensued was the ruination of him, and yet the iron viaducts on the Stainmore line stood the test of time to the end.

Having driven a few scenarios on this already it's great to be able to just sit back and watch it - it really is a cracking route.

There was actually a proposal in 1996 to rebuild the Stainmore Line including a new Belah viaduct. I got the prospectus and they had costed the whole thing out including estimated fabrication costs for the viaduct. They were as mad as a sackful of monkeys but it was a nice idea.

I wouldn’t even want to hazard a guess at the astronomical cost of reinstating the Stainmore route. We can but dream!

@@matthewchorlton8657 Well sadly the Stainmore group at Kirkby Stephen East and the Eden Valley Railway have made a startling lack of progress so even those projects may come to nothing.

1:11:50 a LWB Series I Land Rover SW. Loved it. Seldom have I seen this level of dedication to detail in a route for Train Simulator.

This route is worth every last penny. Wonderful work. I can see why it's taken so long to create. Very well done. Love it.

One can see that this route has been a labour of love, its great to see a period route been made for TS. Only caveat is that it appears to be too clinically clean for a route of that era, but you can say that for 99% of TS routes, there needs to be grime, kettles were never clean neither the environments they worked in. Plus continuously welded rail, pretty sure 60 foot jointed rail is prototypical and bouncy and swaying. This isn't a negative rant either, just constructive criticism for a great achievement in re creating this long gone route.

I think those are fair comments,the joints is an interesting one,I'm not sure if there's a bit of an issue in the route as they are seemingly meant to be there but for some reason keep disappearing. Perhaps a TS issue or one that will be patched.

@@TrainSim_TV Hi, it could have been the case that whilst making your vid, resources were running low, and when that happens sound's are usually the first to drop out in TS?

@@Tastytentacle Not sure,the more I've played with it the more I think it's either that the game is calling too many sound files (as in those placed in route editor) or there's simply no sound set on the track. Be a shame if it doesn't get patched,perhaps it will.

Did a quick-drive on this phenomenal route earlier using the Robinson 04 with 10 wagons and 10 hoppers just to try a challenge. Could barely get past 20mph but I got to enjoy the scenery 😅

My favourite route for a very long time has been Western Lines of Scotland for its lengthy runs with steam trains. This might just give it a run for its money. It just looks amazing

A great video of a fantastic route (amazing achievement by those involved - a work of art and history as much as virtual modelling, really). You were wondering where exactly the train became stranded at Bleath Gill - you can tell from some shots from the famous documentary that it was just east of the actual cutting. You pretty much have the camera on the spot, and your train rolls through the location at about 48:45 :)

Thanks for a very interesting and informative video. I have been waiting for this since it was first mooted and the route looks fantastic. I didn't pre-order it but will do so as soon as it a is released. I think £29.50 is very good value considering the work that has gone into it and the stock included. Some people know the cost of everything and the value of nothing.

There are several requirements for this Stainmore, Shap And Eden Valley route. And no, this route is not a freeware. It might be very coming soon to SteamSoundsSupreme. I am unable to use WCML North, WCML Over Shap, South London Network, Brighton Main Line and Guildford District routes for now because every time I installed UK Pro Signals (UKLedSignals01) perfectly, but the UK Led Signal assets does not shown up. All other routes except WCML North, WCML Over Shap, South London Network, Brighton Main Line and Guildford District worked fine, but I will edit five of these routes to swap out the signals by replacing it from UKLedSignals01 to the E2G (Edinburgh-Glasgow) version because these signals from E2G are actually the same as the RSC's UK Pro Signals pack. Once I fixed these signal issues, I will publish to my website for "WCML North Update (Extension To Edinburgh Waverley with E2G signals)", "WCML Over Shap Update (Extension To Warrington Bank Quay because North Wales Coastal is already discontinued)", South London Network Update (Extension To St. Pancras Via Farrington)", "Brighton Main Line Update", and the "Guildford District Update (The DTG's PDL signals are replacing some old RSC ones)".

Thanks Doug,nothing special really just a case of using manual fireman,preparing for climbs and not blowing all the steam out,trying to keep the generation higher than usage etc. In my next video on Stainmore I didn't do quite so well!

Thanks for the video, I bought this yesterday. I also realised yesterday that although it is true that driving the PDL might seem a bit unrealistic without any AI trains, on a route like this I'd have no problem at all if I never saw another train except mine :) btw, are the keyboard shortcuts the same as usual? (I,K,O and L). What's the shortcuts for shovelling coal? I tried the 4MT tutorial scenario yesterday and couldn't get it to work. Thanks.

I was spell bound, never seen anything like it. I don’t possess a computer and wouldn’t know how to begin, but I wish I could. I’m building a model railway in my shed and this has given me ideas. I don't use RW Enhancer myself,some videos by Tom do use it,but this video is just standard in game settings.
