Great review Tom cheers mate. Acceleration is actually toned down compared to the real thing but we can always revisit it depending on feedback. One of the things I think makes it seem faster is the FOV With it set at the setting it’s at it gives a much faster sense of speed. Sounds we have done the best with what we have got source wise I would love to get some better recordings in the future and the pack will be updates as and when we can. You need to add some improved interior passenger view sounds. Should be louder there than in the cab from experience as a passenger.

Thanks for the review Tom! We've taken your feedback on the artwork side of things and hope to address them in upcoming patches. Regarding those "lights" at the carriage ends: those are actually just red buttons which are used to disconnect the gangways when they get serviced at the depot, but we did also think they were lights in the beginning!

@@BenedictC The acceleration curves for this unit were actually toned down from the real life values as the simulation doesn't take into account certain aspects of drag. We've timed the unit's performance to video reference and from actual 185 drivers, as these units are in reality exceptionally overpowered in order to climb the hills they traverse on a daily basis.

I have a couple of questions for the Class 185 because this is literally my favourite train 1. Will it be available for quick drive on all train simulator routes? 2. Can I buy it from Alan's website with a steam voucher? (I'm not very experienced with train simulator just yet) Also once again, well done on making such an amazing train for train sim 2022 :)

@@jackbarrowclough1739 Hi Jack, the unit is indeed quick drive compatible, however as ATS isn't associated with DTG Steam vouchers are unfortunately not accepted.

Me comparing AP and ATS atm...ATS have definitely killed it with this rolling stock 👌 all credits to the guy who made it as well, the only best product AP have ever made is the CEP Class 411-412, but honestly I'm thinking ATS might go over AP someday.

Those aren't lights at the end of the coaches, they're close buttons for the guards to lock the coach doors when disposing the train

Yh the class 185 trains are my favourite type of train. I don’t have train simulator so I could try it for myself but I video them in real life at York Station. Awesome video though 🙂👍🏻

@@jackstransport long story short if you’re using it in quick drive you need to set the route the train is on with the ‘home’ and ‘end’ keys, then it’s able to give you the correct announcements.

I know the mainline down to Wigan and beyond is well-developed as part of the Missing Link, but I haven't been able to track down any development of this trunk.

This would be great on Workshop scenarios too. I wonder if its popularity will get it to Steam, though given how hard it is to get AP stuff there I would not be surprised to not see it happen. The bee livery actually surprised me and looks good, though I wish there were coaches to match.

Mine is located within the desktop but it may depend on where you extracted the installer. But yes open it then leave it running in background

Just out of interest do you think you'll ever update the route to use the ATS Preston?

Northern lines routes will not be updated. The track does not fit the station model, this would mean a total track relay or merge in. Which then brings in a lot of work to rebuild scenery. Our Cumbrian Coast route however will use the new ATS Preston model :)

That Class 185 was supposed to be available on Steam. But no, Imbue Studios decided to publish to AlanThomsonSim website instead of JustTrains or Armstrong Powerhouse. I'm not buying this DMU until I get the ATS subscription. The ATS subscription price of Class 185 is a bit more popular. Even I still haven't got the Class 185 DMU yet, but I rather changed my mind. This is like the TSW train cab feature. I would imagine to drive the ATS Imbue Studios Class 185 just to run for Manchester Piccadilly to Newcastle service by starting at Leeds and go far as York. Disappointing that this DMU is incompatible to Steam Workshop because of the third party DMU. Really recommend this DMU pack.

you clearly don't understand the improvements that the ATS team did, So, Its a blessing that it was published to ATS. So before you whine about what website it is published to, look at the updates they did to it.

Does anyone know how to get the announcements to work, I am loading the plugin before loading TS 64 bit then when I load into the modern livery without the axion dashboard I am holding f7/8 till I find the right route code along with the announcement code however when I open the doors no announcements play, any ideas?

@@riversideredz414 Try doing it in the order - key in, acknowledge config on the TMS, then the PIS route selection, then open your doors.
