In short, the HHP-8 is it's own locomotive, and can operate solely, while the Acela Express is a trainset. Although the locomotives _could_ technically be uncoupled and run on their own, they pretty much stay coupled to their cars at all times, like the French TGV, the German ICE, and more relevant in train setup, the British InterCity 125.

@@twinboo529 Yes, and like the 125, the Acela Power Unit can uncouple, much like a separate locomotive. My point is you rarely see a Class 43(the 125 locomotive) uncoupled from an InterCity set. It's the same case with the Acela.

Yeah, I think a track extention would be better, the TGV's and ICE's are very slow at the beggining, but are VERY fast. Good job with this one!! 😊

The HHP-8 performed terribly IRL, whereas the ACS-64 was very reliable, hence why it replaced the HHP-8

There should most definitely be a rematch on the longer race track. And not to mention there should be a few more Amtrak trains in the race; the F40PH, P32, P30CH, E60, AEM-7, Siemens Chargers, and most recently (tho I doubt it will be in train simulator any time soon), the Avelia Liberty, AKA, Acela 2.0.

Fun Fact: Numbered 1-207 (197 are still active), they were delivered in two batches: 1996-97, and 2000-01. The P40s, 800-843, were all delivered in 1993. So the P40 is still active on Amtrak lines. Google wont give a direct answer because google is stupid edit: the Loco got a Redesign in Train simulator the original model stays the same but the Paint scheme is different. The ACS-64 doesn't have a good history when it was revealed at a ceremony in 2013, but first entered service in 2014. It had a number of crashes in 2016 an ACS 64 derailed in Chester, Pennsylvania Enroute to Savanna Georgia, the crash type Obstruction on line and consequent derailment Cause The train struck a backhoe. There were more to come the most known is the Frankfort Junction Wreck that led to 8 fatalities and multiple injured the driver whos Name I will not say Forgot where he was. this happened before PTS was installed in trains (positive Train Control).
