My Dad worked at the Depot in Lawshe in the early 1940s. My sister was born in Peebles in 1940. Dad told me about the trains having to double the Lawshe hill using early class Y's. My Grandfather worked in the tower a Claire Yard in Cincinnati also. Love that area.

That is awesome! Thanks for your comments. I wish I could have seen what Lawshe looked like back then. I always wondered about the huge water tank that was by the tracks to fill the steam engines.

They needed the other GP15-1 for switching on the west end. The B36-7s haven't run in a long time. The only other unit operational would be the switcher and it was parked on the maintenance siding in Sardinia. I think it was needing work. They need more power

Thank you, Jaw Tooth, for uploading this second part of your railfanning the Cincinnati Eastern Railroad on 27 October 2023. I enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Eastern Railroad train as it made to trips to bring the train up Lawshe Hill. The hopper cars of rock must have been very heav to force the train to make two trips up Lawshe Hill. It was nice of that truck driver to stop where did on Tranquility Pike at 14:10 to give you a good view of the train coming up Lawshe Hill with the second part of the train. He could have stopped closer to the tracks but he decided to stop where he did to give you that better view of the train crossing. The train was tied up at Williamsburg, Ohio on Friday, 27 October 2023. Did the engineer come back on Saturday, 24 October 2023 to continue the move to the west or did the train spend the weekend tied down at Williamsburg, Ohio?

"Oh my Goodness"...this was one "heck" of an incredible Ohio video, JT. You really "topped it off" with that beautiful Autumn segment at Winchester, starting @18:00. Words -- alone -- cannot capture the splendor of that scene, from the porch-fronted house to the falling leaves as the CE train rumbles by in classic EMD style. Let's not forget that awesome P3 horn audio as the train "fades away" to the left. A beautiful work, JT...thank you, from someone who once lived in Ohio, and has wonderful (railroad) memories 💓of it. 👍👍

Love that old bridge. That's a pretty big hill. I'm surprised there are so many crossings without gates. Those are some very wavy tracks coming up that hill around the curve. At least that dump truck didn't block your shot. I like you shooting from the other side better coming up the hill. Haha, that porch is alot like mine where I sit and watch the trains. Right at a crossing too. Great job with this video, Enjoyed it alot.

Hi JT, Those CET locos have the best horn! It's so loud, beautiful spots for watching the trains I like remote locations where its just you & the track & train. Tranquillity pike is one of my favourite places that you go to JT. Liked how the lorry stayed back so as not to get too much in your shot! ❤😊

When it comes to grades you can either spend time or fuel. I'm guessing CE figures it's cheaper spending time or they would put on more power. Thanks for the great in-depth coverage, enjoyed it much. Thanks JT!

I would dare to say in its day Norfolk and Western had some interesting lashups struggling along on through freights trying to get up and over these Hills. 1931 that bridge represented quite an investment for the day considering the Depression was on but it was a Mainline Improvement. The covered Hopper s no doubt say to themselves "Hey this town looks familiar" as they see Winchester from both directions. Jason in Iron Mountain has the same situation with gondolas at a scrap yard that put on about an extra 40 miles up to Channing MI and back. Then finally the TTXX cars headed for final shop work before they become FTTX. Truck frame carriers. The top and bottom clamp sets along with the tie-down chains will be added and then the Crayola primer paint will disappear along with those last graffiti tags under a new coat of TTX yellow. So goes an uncommon day on a common carrier

Hey JT.... ever think of taking some of those fantastic stills of trains you shoot and making a calendar to sell? You could have a merch page with pics, calendars, etc. I'D BUY IT!! I think a lot of your followers would. I always tell my son I wish I could have a Jaw Tooth t-shirt. Another great video and in one of my favorite places. I LOVE that house that is so near the tracks. First time I saw it in a video of yours, I wished I could live there to be near the trains going through. Great shots today! Thanks for all you do and until next time!!!

The first video you took of that train going by they must’ve had five or six of those flat cars with the handbrake still on them that might’ve been why they couldn’t pull up the hill so the conductor must’ve heard that and took them off but anyway another great video Jaw tooth

Awesome video made a comment in your video about wet feet and how you do not like it. I am retired US Marine live in Oregon where it rains most of the time if not all the time. You said you wanted to find a place where you could get waterproof boots. Well they're made right here in Portland Oregon they're called Danner boots and they're 101 percent waterproof and we wore them in the military they made all the military boots for the USMC. Keep up the videos brother they're awesome

I love how the engineer makes that horn sing a song! Question - in the CE yard, in front of the blue loco #5857, there's a piece of MOW equipment, it looks like a brush cutter - is that what it is? I'm interested because it kinda looks like the brush cutter I crewed on back in 1980, but it's too far away for me to be sure.

JT great location, great angles to work from... Question, JT... if they simply add another engine and have three that would of stop a lot of the need to cut cars off? Anyway, beautiful red locomotives and they make a beautiful sound as well. What a fantastic angle and perspective the second cut was! Hey, that was considerate of that Mack truck driver to hold back so he didn't block your view of that "second cut" train! Loki is huge now compared to Jessie! Great video, JT... I did really enjoy that one... gorgeous settings adds to it!

Something changed, because there were initially 6 rock cars and then 10 later. I didn't check the numbers, but they must have left 4 somewhere. I can then wonder how that grain elevator company feels about their loads getting hauled all over creation before being delivered.

That's pretty cool!!, Were they GP Units, lost part of your Video due to Tech Fault, i could hear and hardly see them, them and just sounded like them. If not put it down to the bottle of scotch i had last night, i tend to hear all sorts of things.,!!!!. Got up this morning to try and clean up the video but found a faulty feeder information hub from provider was to blame. But what i did see was as usual magnificent, Always Great Video and beautiful scenery and narration was great, You don't get that much at 30.000 or in tech tack FL300, With Faces plastered to windshield, much rather drive a train than 787-777-A380, Boring !!!!!!, But not really, We Have Lives in our hands just like Passenger and Freight Tain Drivers do, What i love is getting in the Cab, Dad was s Driver and that's when i caught the bug after being able to handle the throttles in the i (Not Really should be) but this was across the nullabour plain in lower Australia with 400Km of straight track in Two CLP CLass + Two AN Class Locomotives, So Cool. I ended up Dodging Mountains way down low in an RAAF F-111 but my love for Trains is monumental so i got into the State Rail Systems Heritage in Brisbane (Queensland) Steam and old Diesel Branch, Got my Ticket on both types and can operate onto the mains. Anyway enough of myself and like i said great bits a pieces that i saw was the Landscapes beauty and Trains Just appearing out of no where or as it seems, "But Your The GoTo Man.'' Will retry and load this Doco from a Mate. Regards
