at 14:00 you were right I was tempted to press delete key. good share of experience and great intro to postshot!

Thanks for this one. With VRay adding splat support this is going to get bigger.

I had no idea! That’s really great news!

Have you tried supersplat? For cleaning it gives you a lot of tools.

this is awesome... doing test now with vid clip and all max settings. Kinda regret not going through images and filtering out crap because its obviously going to take longer or even mess up results. What IS coming into view is crazy impressive and even yields more details you notice in original video (webm clip downloaded and converted at that) I do REALLY want to know how to bring into Unreal as a 3d model though. Know about Any updates ? ..... even from commenters? Im ALSO wondering how good it looks in VR using HMD AND if there is any data intensity/weight advantage using such over high poly models.

you can use the xyz box option to get rid of everything outside the box, no need to use the brush

Hi mate did you have to download the nvidia CUDA before installing postshot ? I cant't download Postshot because i don't have the CUDA. Can you give me a hand to install CUDA ?
@alexvillabon16 күн бұрын
@@Abdulstolemyjob i didnt have to but to be fair I have a bunch of stuff installed from other tools. Id refer you to their documentation or discord/forums. Do you have an nvidia gpu?

@@alexvillabon Hi Thanks for the response Alex, Unfortunately, I'm using an intel laptop. I'm a slight noob with regards to understanding computer hardware. However I'm currently using Blender on a Linux machine. weirdly enough I was able to download the CUDA software without having a Nvidia GPU on linux, but for some reason the application failed (I think it's because i'm using a linux machine, since post shot requires windows) So for now i will just use blender. But do you have any advice for a noob like me ? Note : I'm duel booting between windows and linux btw.

@@Abdulstolemyjob sounds like a hardware limitation. Check postshot’s website to see what is required. As for the cude download, cant do much with that if you dont have the hardware for it.

hey. i was wondering, how would you make that into a textured model? is it even possible currently?
@alexvillabonАй бұрын
@@taavetmalkov3295 there are ways but the mesh isn’t anything great. I don’t have software names off the top of my head but you can generate a mesh from a point cloud. Spend 5 mins on google or youtube and you will find different options.
@martticoprivАй бұрын
Do you mean a model with geometry? I do wonder whether it's possible to generate new/missing perspectives using gaussian splatting for photogrammetry. I'm not sure if anyone has ever done that though
@taavetmalkov3295Ай бұрын
@martticopriv if you seach for something like "gaussian splat in ar" there is one github direction from a video which shows it being done with unity. Maybe the perspectives can be taken out from that viewport system

Hi Alex. Thank you for the video. I do not see anywhere on their website that the software is open source. The traditional way of doing GS is not that hard, and you get a point cloud to and i think that should not be that hard to bring the data in nuke or houdini or any other dcc. And meshing of GS is from my tests direct dependent of the gpu video memory.
