Is that what that siren-like, screeching sound is as power is put into the motors to accelerate from stop?? Not used to it, since I've never rode anything newer than R42s in 1982, when visiting NYC. Used to the older initial sounds of Westinghouse 1442s, used on those older SMEE units..or, better yet, the "scary" groaning/roaring of the accelerating prewar motors, like R9s, AB Standards, Lo-Vs, Triplex typ es..giving away my age!! Not too familiar with the newer technology.

With an r68 like that definitely not cause the step is short and the door is locked. R179 yea but you need to do it when the train is stopped
