Really?? I've never heard the original version (which I'm sure is EVERYTHING since it's by an angel) so i wouldnt know if Ki did it faster. It's mostly in the beginning where it seems a bit rushed. I think the beginning is originally calmer than the rest of the song, to make the emotional build-up extra effective. [Either way, Kihuyn did awesome and I wish we could hear him sing it again. Think he could do an even better job seeing how much he's evolved.]

I’ve been a Shawol for a very long time. It wasn’t rushed at all. They just needed something to say, they couldn’t admit to a trainee that it was nearly perfect. Kihyun payed an amazing tribute to Jonghyun and many shawols consider this to be one of the best SHINee covers out there. I hate when in such shows people use the excuse "They`re just trainees, they havent even debuted!" when a contestant doesn`t put emotion. You either can put emotion, either can`t. Kihyun can. In this performance he was still a trainee, yet he was able to use dynamics to express even stronger feeling, just like Jonghyun did. Neither of them was obligated to use this method, they could sing it all with the same dynamic, whether it be loud or quiet. Putting emotion is something you can`t learn. And proper practical use of dinamics is almost impossible, if not impossible, to learn. It`s intuition in it`s biggest part and not everyone has this type of intuition.

The way I can feel him crying out, especially when he sings the “hada” of “chanlanhada”. The way his voice breaks as if he’s really crying. I can FEEL the emotion his brings into this song. He and Jjong both. Amazing vocalist. Just breathtaking. And I do not think the judge should penalize Ki for speeding a bit. It was a stylist choice and he shouldn’t have to sing it EXACTLY how the original artist did.

not many people do this song justice, jonghyun's live performance is probably one of my all time favourite performances. It's very interesting how kihyun gave it his own feel and changed it slightly. Jonghyun's version is about desperation and heartbreak, trying to convince the person not to go (I cry almost every time I watch the performance) whereas Kihyun's because it's faster it's like he gave up and the person is already leaving and he's singing it all quicker because it's already done. Gosh that song truly is a masterpiece

I don't really mind him not getting 1st, not even just after watching this part, cuz I am 100% sure from the very beginning that he is one of those who will make it to the end regardless of what happened afterwards in the episodes. It had been clear since the beginning he is the best vocalist among the 12. Looking at Starship Family, from K.Will to Hyorin/Soyou to Junggigo and many many more, Starship emphasizes more on the vocal ability of an artist or as a group than the dancing or rapping ability. Starship will not debut anything at all if they did not have an artist that can inherit the vocal line in the Starship Family. I am also sorry to admit that none of the other 11 people in No Mercy, or the 6 in Monsta X have the vocal abilities that are anywhere close to Kihyun now. I, however, do look forward to the improvement of the group, in terms of ability in various areas and also their popularity. I can't wait to see Monsta X being a top group in the following years.

A song is not just made beautiful by singing the lyrics perfect, it's about putting all your emotions into it while singing, it's about giving it all you got and that's exactly what Kihyun did. I got goosebumps and teared up while listening to it, not just because it's sad but because i could really hear how much he put into the song, you can really hear how much he means it and how much he was fighting to debut and how passionate he is about singing. All i can say is that i am really glad he got to debut (ofc im also glad that the others won) but Kihyun really has talent and knows how to make a song his own! This song is pure perfection. ♥ - I support Monsta X, they are really talentet and have fought/are fighting and giving it all they got because singing is what they are passionate about but they are also working hard for us, to give us their songs and a great perfomance. No Mercy and their progress in general has shown us how much they are fighting and how much they've progressed in a short amount of time and that's why im proud of them and proud to call myself a Monbebe. ♥ - Idk if any1 will read this but i just felt like getting it out, and commenting all that on this song just seemed perfect. :p Sorry it got long.
