It's mostly in the beginning where it seems a bit rushed. I think the beginning is originally calmer than the rest of the song, to make the emotional build-up extra effective. [Either way, Kihuyn did awesome and I wish we could hear him sing it again. Think he could do an even better job seeing how much he's evolved.]

Really?? I've never heard the original version (which I'm sure is EVERYTHING since it's by an angel) so i wouldnt know if Ki did it faster. It just sounds so beautiful, so amazing, the way he performed it. I love that it was kinda fast paced, made my emotions rush & gave the song an edge that I wish more ballads had.

I loved the way it was rushed though. It keeps the feeling of trying to have someone dear to you stay. You speak fast, nervous, on urge of tears. You want them to stay. The way it sounded rush sort of made me felt the emotions behind the song a little more. So even though the judges think it's a negative thing I think it successfully made me (the audience) feel the emotions and the lyrics and the meaning a lot more like a clear painted art piece.

I’ve been a Shawol for a very long time. It wasn’t rushed at all. They just needed something to say, they couldn’t admit to a trainee that it was nearly perfect. Kihyun payed an amazing tribute to Jonghyun and many shawols consider this to be one of the best SHINee covers out there. I hate when in such shows people use the excuse "They`re just trainees, they havent even debuted!" when a contestant doesn`t put emotion. You either can put emotion, either can`t. Kihyun can. In this performance he was still a trainee, yet he was able to use dynamics to express even stronger feeling, just like Jonghyun did. Neither of them was obligated to use this method, they could sing it all with the same dynamic, whether it be loud or quiet. Putting emotion is something you can`t learn. And proper practical use of dinamics is almost impossible, if not impossible, to learn. It`s intuition in it`s biggest part and not everyone has this type of intuition.

I don't really mind him not getting 1st, not even just after watching this part, cuz I am 100% sure from the very beginning that he is one of those who will make it to the end regardless of what happened afterwards in the episodes. It had been clear since the beginning he is the best vocalist among the 12. Looking at Starship Family, from K.Will to Hyorin/Soyou to Junggigo and many many more, Starship emphasizes more on the vocal ability of an artist or as a group than the dancing or rapping ability. Starship will not debut anything at all if they did not have an artist that can inherit the vocal line in the Starship Family. I am also sorry to admit that none of the other 11 people in No Mercy, or the 6 in Monsta X have the vocal abilities that are anywhere close to Kihyun now. I, however, do look forward to the improvement of the group, in terms of ability in various areas and also their popularity. I can't wait to see Monsta X being a top group in the following years.

The way I can feel him crying out, especially when he sings the “hada” of “chanlanhada”. The way his voice breaks as if he’s really crying. I can FEEL the emotion his brings into this song. He and Jjong both. Amazing vocalist. Just breathtaking. And I do not think the judge should penalize Ki for speeding a bit. It was a stylist choice and he shouldn’t have to sing it EXACTLY how the original artist did.

Monsta X is my ultimate group and i can't imagine my life without one of them, that's why i'm so heartbroken about these news (Just thinking about what it must feel to suddenly lose someone you love so much simply breaks my heart in a million of pieces). Not only because of that, but also because I knew so much about Jonghyun, the beautiful things he did, how he wasn't afraid to speak out about everything, how he wanted to help people, and the important fact that he was such a *talented* artist. Because of all those things, my heart is hurting so much, i couldn't stop crying since i woke up and now i'm still feeling really down, the sadness is not going away. The first thing that made me smile today was a Monsta X video. I couldn't be more thankful to them. I came here because i remembered Kihyun made a beautiful cover of this beautiful song by Jonghyun. And i'm just overwhelmed about everything. The emotions Kihyun put into this stage together with his strong honey voice filled with passion somehow made my heart clench a little. I can't imagine what would Jonghyun's friends, family or fans would be feeling right now, but I can understand the pain and I can feel it very well. We're all suffering here but I think what we have left from Jonghyunie is not only his actions but also his songs. Everything about him was art, and Hyeya has an especial place in my heart. Through this song, i feel more connected to Shawols, because even though i am not a part of the fandom, i'm mourning for jjong and i will keep doing so. The sadness doesn't easily go away but i will try to be strong for him, it's the least thing i could do (And I hope anyone who reads this is doing okay too). He was such an angel without wings, now he just finally got them, those he deserved. He became a real angel, i'm sure. That's what i want to think, i want to remember him for what he did and what he became, not for what he left us. So the last thing i have to say is: You did well, Jonghyun-ah. not many people do this song justice, jonghyun's live performance is probably one of my all time favourite performances. It's very interesting how kihyun gave it his own feel and changed it slightly. Jonghyun's version is about desperation and heartbreak, trying to convince the person not to go (I cry almost every time I watch the performance) whereas Kihyun's because it's faster it's like he gave up and the person is already leaving and he's singing it all quicker because it's already done. Gosh that song truly is a masterpiece

A song is not just made beautiful by singing the lyrics perfect, it's about putting all your emotions into it while singing, it's about giving it all you got and that's exactly what Kihyun did. I got goosebumps and teared up while listening to it, not just because it's sad but because i could really hear how much he put into the song, you can really hear how much he means it and how much he was fighting to debut and how passionate he is about singing. All i can say is that i am really glad he got to debut (ofc im also glad that the others won) but Kihyun really has talent and knows how to make a song his own! This song is pure perfection. ♥ - I support Monsta X, they are really talentet and have fought/are fighting and giving it all they got because singing is what they are passionate about but they are also working hard for us, to give us their songs and a great perfomance. No Mercy and their progress in general has shown us how much they are fighting and how much they've progressed in a short amount of time and that's why im proud of them and proud to call myself a Monbebe. ♥ - Idk if any1 will read this but i just felt like getting it out, and commenting all that on this song just seemed perfect. :p Sorry it got long.

Yes they sing this song to pay respect to Jonghyun but Kihyun sang this song before his death, simply because either he looked up to jonghyun or because he really loved the song (or whatever reason he had to choose it). No one is saying that they shouldn''t sing this song after his death, I think it's beautiful that people sing it even now, but I think it's also beautiful that Kihyun sang this song simply because of the song and not for any other reason. He appreciated this song simply for the song and the song it's beauty and not for any other reason. it's really not meant in a bad way and i don't think OP meant it in a bad way either, calling someone "annoying and sick" is really not necessary
