I really like the shorter, more targeted, video snips - i.e., 5-20 minutes in length. Thanks guys!

Just sharing my experience related to raised insulin levels: For the last 9 months, I have tried to use cycling and also dip into ketosis to lose weight, but to my surprise it wasn't working like it did before. My doctor and I were wondering why my triglyceride levels were very high, despite being active.. Eventually I realised the zero sugar tablets I've been taking had artificial sweeteners that raise insulin levels and it takes longer than usual for the body to clear that insulin.

I've never heard that artificial sweeteners raise insulin levels. Where did this come from?

Thank you tor all the videos - learning the science helps understanding which makes for an easier motivation. Something I have noticed lately is that when I drink a cup of coffee ( not overly strong or hot) that I start a sweat - and the thought that caffeine stimulates metabolic fat and increases heat has explained that nicely.

I’m 4 weeks post op from a triple bypass. Thanks for this video to help me cut the fat and I can wait to get back on the bike. Any suggestions on how to work my way back to riding faster?

Once you have been cleared by your doctor for exercise, we recommend using TrainerRoad's training plans to work your way back to fitness. There are three phase of training: Base, Build and Specialty. You will want to complete them in that order, so you'll start at the Base Phase. We have either Sweet Spot Base or Traditional Base. Traditional Base may be the best option for you for a gentle re-introduciton to training. If you have further questions about training, feel free to browse or start your own thread at forum.trainerroad.com :)

Just discovered this video today and really enjoyed it. I was thinking about the discussion of the guy who just stopped eating for over a year. It makes perfect sense that when the calories stop going in, the body burns it’s reserves. But is the conventional “wisdom” wrong, that the body will go into a “starvation mode” and actually try to keep its reserves, making it harder to lose weight (fat)? By the way, love the videos! Not a subscriber yet, but looking very seriously at it. Thanks for putting this information out there!

When you talk about doing DEXA every month: is it dangerous do get so much radiation?
@kaicolbert6099

No you would need to go to it tens of thousands of time for it to start affecting you

No but it’s dangerous to believe the results. The Dexa is notoriously inaccurate and imprecise.

Love the channel but please stop stating that the Dexa is the Gold Standard. It has been shown by comparison to MRI to be very inaccurate. Check out the research paper with comparison to MRI scan.

Prolonged therapeutic water fasting, between 3-14 days helped me shed 40+ pounds in two months. The downside is that training is out of the question.

I lost 4kg in 3 days doing an epic gravel ride, was my calorie intake so negative vs output that I lost the weight or did I speed up my metabolic rate?
@TrainerRoad
@TrainerRoad 5 жыл бұрын
With an event like this, you likely lost a significant amount of water weight during the event. Fat loss takes time, so the loss of water weight likely contributes to a large part of your weight loss. Be sure to drink lots of water :)

I'm 65 years old. Currently looking at the combination of frequency, duration, and intensity in my riding and trying to sort out what works for me. Recuperation after a ride so I can ride again is a bigger issue for me at my age than it used to be. Any recommendations or comments on training with age being past that of most riders.

I am 64. Because of my Afib issues, I limit my riding to 3 days per week. What I notice is that pretty much every ride I am quite recovered. Self massage after each training along with other things help quite a bit with my recuperation. You can see what I do with my training on my KZbin channel.

i don't understand how i am 5'8" and weigh 170 lbs. i SWEAR i am NOT FAT!!!! of course i could get leaner but the absolute lowest i can get is 160, and that's really only with the help of a girlfriend breaking up with me (distraught depression) i pack on muscle like its going out of style, but have extreme difficulty getting lean i don't over-eat at all, and drink GALLONS of green vegetable shake every week. with the pulp. so i get obscene amounts of fiber going through my digestive system.

15 months off the drink and your video kinda isn't appealing all quaffing the bubbly....wtf...Cycling like all sports attracts obsessive types and I'm sure I'm not the only one who has taken some healthy choices and is here to better themselves.... not sitting through this. Thank F I use SYSTM and Wahoo not Alky Road....
