I ran my first half marathon in 2018. After completing the race, I took a five year break from running (running no more than once every few months at best). In the second half of 2023, I began running again and found a new love for the sport. I decided to sign up for the Pittsburgh half marathon again in May of 2024, and will be sharing my training process here on KZbin!
In 2018, I didn't fully commit to my preparation plan (only training up to eight miles ahead of the race day). This time around, I'm hoping to stick to my plan with a goal of running the race in under two hours.
Hope you enjoy part one of this running series! Thank you for watching 😊🏃🏼‍♀️❄️

My favorite activity for sure. I've been running 5K every day(whether outside or treadmill, but much prefer the former)for over 25 years, but I never could do 13 or even 10 miles at a time. Looking forward to the follow up video!

Outside definitely beats treadmill. Good for you going every day, though! Just three days a week has been tough to stick to for me

Exciting! I decided I could run a marathon in 2026 for my 35th and if I run a half marathon this Sept under 2h, I get to hire a coach. Also getting slowly back into running. I do other stuff, so I'm not not exercising at all, but it has been very sporadic over the last year due to various reasons. Can't wait to be actually recovered from overreaching so I can actually start running!

Best of luck training for your future half marathon and marathon! The idea of a marathon still intimidates me somewhat, but it’s not out of the cards

Love this! So good to see you don’t share your location. Your running views are amazing! I find on days I don’t feel like training, I just blank out my mind and go on auto pilot getting dressed and ready and out the door. As an endurance coach, I love watching this! I’ll be following your vids. YOU GOT THIS!

Thank you!! I can relate to the benefit of going autopilot to get ready versus overthinking it, but it can still be tough

Staying motivated to train is the hardest part but I'm sure you realize that. Good luck with the race. I used to run the Derby Mini marathon but haven't for years. Ugh!

Good for you! At least Cleveland isn't covered in snow this year for training!

I miss the snow, but the lack of it has definitely helped with training outdoors!

Just a heads up if you're trying to grow on KZbin, please PLEASE add km conversions for distance and pace - sincerely, the rest of the world.

That’s a good point! I’ve heard km is where it’s at everywhere else (and even starting to become preferred for some runners in the US now too). Thanks!

Do you like running the same paths or switching it up?

I’ll check her out! I’m only running for a 5k but wanted to do some other exercises. I do Pilates at a studio once a week and love it
