Interesting video, and thank you for posting it. The position that the artefact lays, as shown, is the optimum for providing best results. Users should also be aware that performing the same length check, with the bar in different orientations is far more likely to highlight accuracy challenges with the arm. Elevating the bar off the table, indeed positioning it in the top half of the measuring volume, is far more indicative. I understand that RDS guides the bar to be placed, as shown, but the graphic is only advisory and the calculations shall work just the same if the bar is placed anywhere, and at any orientation in the measuring volume.
