The software EcoStruxure Machine Expert Basic (former SoMachine Basic) allows you to program the Modicon M221:

In order to program the Modicon M221 you can use a miniUSB cable (TCSXCNAMUM3P or BMXXCAUSBH018).

Hello, thanks for your tutorial, i don't have pnp encoder, mostly in my country sell NPN output encoder, how i wiring this NPN encoder to this M221 PLC

Hi Lim! In the page 223 you can see different example of encoder connections to the M221: download.schneider-electric.com/files?p_enDocType=User+guide&p_File_Name=EIO0000001384.06.pdf&p_Doc_Ref=EIO0000001384 I am afraid that all of them are for PNP as in my example. I have not tested but if you are using the NPN encoder then you will need to assign the COM of the Inputs to 24vdc instead of the 0Vdc then depend on the encoder some advice to use an external resistance in each channel to avoid the destruction of the encoder. (Again i have not tested, analyse further this suggestion)
