All SOLID advice. Especially "a lot of running and doing calisthenics in full kit is generally a bad idea."... For anyone doubting this advice ask ANY combat arms vet how their lower back, knees, hips, and/or ankles are doin on any random day.

Definitely good advice. I generally think everyone can stand to improve their squat because of the carryover to a lot of things.

Firearms training classes are not cheap. 1. Bring a note pad & pen and take notes. Also, review your notes after class. 2. Your rounds contain lead, so wash your hands before lunch and after your class. 3. Don't eat a big lunch or you will get sleepy. Instead, snack on a small lunch like GORP. 4. Don't "race" others for time. I have seen a negligent discharge in a class many years ago. He shot himself in the thigh and was a very intelligent person. But he tried to beat the time of his friend. Definitely a no go.

Good advise, one can feel the difference between be trained or not so trained; it really haves an impact on the weapons handling.

Collagen is definitely slept on. I take turmeric and ginger supps and ashwaganda as well. Also yearly check ups at the doctor. I thought I had a well rounded diet until I got blood work done recently and had a vitamin d deficiency and my potassium levels were on the low end.

Great video, one edit: before working out do a “dynamic warmup” - keep “stretching” for post workout.

Phil Maffetone's big book of endurance training and racing defines training as work plus rest. Without adequate levels of both the equation can become negative.

I'm not a vegan what so ever. But I consume quite a bit of non meat protein...beans and broccoli are my go too. They help me clear out all the cell phone users around me so I can get on equipment faster.

Your friends may have skills you need ... they can be diverse. A friend has yoga skills, benefitted for calm stable stance and site picture. Another had balistic and operational knowledge of firearms. Me, I had desert experience and ammo. We were just recreational shooters, but lots of fun. The few times I competed ....did OK. No brutallity matches then. I credit friends for upping my game. To note, my only few compition matches used a beat looking Swede M38 and my best "station" was the 18x24 gong at 300 yds - 5 shots standing. Yoga gave me balance & clear head and the Swede was percise and consistant, even after getting roasting hot. I am on the lookout for the Geriactic Brutality match.

With weightlifting, .8g of protein for each pound of body weight or your goal weight is the recommended amount based off of scientific studies. I don’t recommend static stretching as it can actually cause damage. Dynamic stretches are far better for warming up. Regarding cardio, speed training at least once a week ie Fartlecks is generally enough to help with overall speed. I’m very active and generally lift weights 5 times a week and run 5 times a week with 1 rest day. I’m also vegan. Lots of beans and protein shakes 😂

Only if you've got some real sturdy handles on there. If you're looking for a substitute (and you're not actually throwing them) I'd suggest gallon jugs of water, actually.

I’m hitting the gym hard lately. I’m in Las Vegas & the formula 1 is coming in 2 months, & the Super Bowl is here in February. I work unarmed security on the Las Vegas strip. & am on the Costco chicken diet. Taking creatine & stopped pre workout powder due to it being ineffective due to high tolerance. Gonna skip a month.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ #staystrapped #glock26gen5

How are you going to keep being trans in the apocalypse?!!
@theseukonnen120010 ай бұрын
something tells me you aren't asking this question out of genuine concern
@zthecat10 ай бұрын
I also have a sneaking suspicion you're not genuinely asking, but I'm going to answer anyways. Assuming HRT wouldn't be available during the "apocalypse", they would... just stop HRT Lol you don't have to be on HRT to be trans. Also, I assume gender identity wouldn't be as important during the apocalypse. We'd all be looking rough and buff 🤤
