Outstanding in depth video brother. Yes , the Mongolians are more superior in their grip fighting while able to relax their body. Once they get their initial inside grip, it's a constant fluent movement. If by chance you do get a grip, it will most likely not be a dominant grip or a grip that you prefer. They are quick to execute a throw as soon as they have a dominant grip. These guys are retired multiple National Shuai Jiao Championships. However, they still compete just not as much as they used to. In addition, if you try to out muscle them, and use only strength with very little technique. They simply shake your hand and walk off the mat because you do not offer them anything worth learning or competitive competition. They are not willing to get injured for any low-level grappler. I found it best to try to relax as much as possible, while observing their constant gripping abilities. There's no need to try to win a sparring match against these high-level guys because they will light you up. It was a great experience to move around with these guys. Apart from that they are really friendly people.

Vincent, How do you compare the injuries in Shuai jiao vs other grappling arts? (Assuming you had the opportunity to do them). I've done BJJ in the past, the injuries are very frequent rolling, in Judo and wrestling it's actually worst.

@@hong-enlin4651 I've done a year or so of Brazilian jiu-jitsu and several months of Judo in addition to the ShuaiJiao and Bökh.. I think in BJJ you are more likely to severely injure your joints especially when rolling with lower belts or assholes... I sustained a knee injury in Judo and I'm unsure if it was an accident or egotistical behavior from a black belt... I got overheaded really badly once in Bökh and landed on my neck, and hurt my shoulder getting countered once in Shuaijiao... Hmmm In MY experience Brazilian jiu-jitsu might have the higher incidence of injury. That said I think shuaijiao and Bökh demand clean throws which can be devastating on unconditioned beginners...

@@the.wandering.warrior Wow! Thanks for the fast answer. Do you have any more insights into what groups of techniques is more prone to injuries? Are sweeps safer than throws? The resistance from Shooting/scrambling hurts the knees and ankles, sometimes it's just overuse, for example if all your partners does is the guillotine, in a few weeks you will probably need to see a doctor for your neck.

@@the.wandering.warrior Sorry to hear you had to deal with injuries, but I guess it's just taken for granted, there were a lot of videos on the meme "Jiu Jitsu ruined my life", most people dropped out after blue belt due to injuries. People don't suffer that in standup arts unless they get beat up hard sparring. People want to know how to have longevity in grappling if it is just a hobby.
