With 27 gold medals, South Korea has dominated archery at the Olympics for three decades.
In a sport that requires significant mental strength and focus, sport psychologists play a key role in keeping the country’s archers on target.
Beyond the shooting range, competitiveness is fostered in Korean society from a young age in a school system known for its rigidity.
Whether it's in the classroom or on the sports field, South Koreans strive to be the best on the global stage.
Mindset meets the sports psychologists and “brain trainers” pushing South Koreans to be number one.

If you look at the murals in the ancient Korean tombs from the 4th to 5th centuries, you can see why Koreans are good at archery.

Very into their biometric approach towards brain training. Seems more reliable than the psychological/emotional stuff, on the other hand - the more aged archery guru seems to be finding success in both methodologies. Good show.

In the end it all comes down to one five letter word. MONEY. Korea ranks among the highest rate of suicide among the ages 10 to 39, with over 50% of those death is from young people in their 20's.the bulk being, (but not all) coming from poor working-class families. I saw this 1st hand in the early 80's when Korea wasn't even a blip on the screen. The pressure to succeed in education was so great for young people that college entrance exams were televised, and nets were place along tall buildings to catch those who made the choice to end their life because they didn't get into the premier Korean College. Take a poll of all those on the Korean archery Team and you will find that all their parents either have or come from MONEY with rarely few coming from a poor working-class families.

cool story but archery in korea is one of the few things that are purely merit based
@alexdolly6077
@alexdolly6077 6 сағат бұрын
@@blues. Yes, but long before that merit is measured, you still Need money to keep up with the pack to one day be considered to be a part of the big dance. You're Not the child of a single parent working class household or someone working a part-time job and trying to keep up with these guys. I lived in country from 84 to 85 then from 86 to when Korea held the Olympics in 88. Then in Inchon in 2014 Asian games and seen what it took to even be look at.

Since the Koreans are chornic physical and beauty conscious people's 99% of its population takes up only archery as the only sports because its non physical and non contact sports so its the reason why they are very good in archery .....

Bless all you the good news rejoice Jesus Christ the son of god is returning soon. The son of man and son of god had done wonderful then like helping the sick and injured, wake on water, cast out demons, feed the many, make the bline see, and raise the dead. Believe Jesus died for your sin with his blood. Buried for three days. An on the third day rose in a glorified body we to will have in the rapture. Repent your sins or face gods wrath of the great tribulation. There be 21 wraiths and if your there in this time don’t take the mark of the beast and accept death in faith to Jesus Christ. The mark be on forehead or right hand. Jesus love and cares about you he will help you feel that hole in your heart all he ask is for you to accept him as your lord and savior and learn about him. spread the message........please.

Women have NOTHING to do with war Why even fight them ? Isa 3:12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths. Isa 32:9 Rise up, ye women that are at ease; hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech. Rev 9:8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.
