Hi Coach I found your channel about a month ago and what a breath of fresh air! I've learned more in that month than in the last ten years. Thank you 👍 I look forward to every new video, brilliant.

Hey coach, I’ve started back with the weights twice a week. My goals for November are to building back up my strength work and only doing zone 2 upper and lower. I’ll start adding back in hard zone 5 work either next month or six weeks or so. Does this plan sound okay? I don’t want to drop off the gain I’ve made with v02 work the last few months but I want to let my body get used to the weights again. I’ll add the upper zone work back in a bit later. You thoughts?

Love the channel coach! Started using Z2 HR for running. I am finding it a little tougher through the winter since I ride the Velodrome. You talk about Ego.....that is the one place I get sucked in, love the excitement of the fast pace line AND you can't have a bike computer exposed, no potential distractions. Thanks for the content., from Canada.

If I could have sat down with Scott for a one hour conversation, it would have been pretty much this live session! So many of my doubts resolved and confidence gained. Great stuff. Thank you 😊

Fantastic information. Started indoor cycling for the first time, I should have started years earlier then at least there would have been consistency.

A lot of wisdom in this video I hope the younger guys are paying attention because there are life lessons inside Thanks coach 🙏

I find my HIIT sessions scare me enough to keep Z2 sessions honest. All I have to do is think about the interval session I have later in the week or the next day and I ease off. I have hill repeats and VO2 intervals this week and I know the suffering of those 2 sessions too well. Love the channel!

Absolutely fantastic vid coach 👍, love the polarisation stuff. I have just started tinkering with that approach. Excited to see where I’ll be by January

Hi coach, my 3 hour club ride is a mixture of all power zones but averages 75% of FTP so upper Z2. I want to follow a 80/20 training plan. How should I quantify this ride in that plan? is a single Z2 or break down the individual time in zone percentages?

Zone 2 is zone 2 - it’s better to stay in zone as you will use lactate and glycogen for fuel ahead of fat when you jump zones. However your group is essential for lots of other factors. You may want to count the group ride as one of your hard sessions though.

Great video. I’m a subscriber and I’m on week 4 of fat for fuel. I think I understand the concept here (2 breakout sessions per week, the remaining “exercise” sessions at heart rate zone 2). My one question is that - should you do a a full recovery week of only zone 2 after a full 3 or 4 week block of weeks with “breakout” sessions, or is that not necessary if your’e doing sessions you can recover from (the 30-45 minute session in the morning “golden hour”) - or does it just depend on how you’re feeling?

Coach there are many times on a ride when I'm riding in HR zone 2 but if I increase my cadence, I can't "sing" because my breathing gets harder, even though my HR is still in zone 2. What do you make of that (other than my lack of fitness! haha)? Also, I had to stop the Fat4Fuel and take time off the bike after the metric century. So now which winter plan should I use? Zone 2 workouts or Fat4Fuel?

#Question Am I correct in thinking that the ideal heart rate for zone 2 training is 83% of cTHR???

Coach: How will Race on zwift benefit me VS doing an actual VO2 or something high intensity workout? Especially racing above my category and trying to hang on as long as possible. Focused high intensity twice a week and 3 days if Zone 2 with 2 rest days. Input much appreciated 👍
