Curious where did you get the Gen1 new? Let me ask you....are you starting it with the HPI starter wand or your drill? What I';ve seen happen quite a bit is guys using their drill, which doesn't have a cut-off for when it get flooded. Or. the want is put it at an odd angle, (usually when there is a wheelie bar). But check this out...I am working on a Savage video I'm going to put on KZbin. I'll let you know when I do. Do you know what it's about? Street setups. That's right....;-)

+Howlin' Wolf RC So you were fixing that for a customer? Did you ask him if he was using a drill? I do have wrenched on a few vehicls (incling the Savage) so always endeavor to understand the problem before employing the solution. i.e. I have to know WHY stuff happen. Check out the "To Rebuild;d a Savage X 4.6" series. I also have a two aftermarket parts I designed for rthe Savage. They are being ,manufactured now. I go over them in some of the maintenance vids for the Savvy

i was fixing that for a customer,he uses a roto start,but i use a drill with the drill clutch set at four, it has more balls than the wheezy rotostart but it turned out he tried to install this himself.and used his old parts,but then gave up. but all is good now!

i am not sure what they were. This RC belonged to another person,I don't think i caught the tire brand.
