Canadian Pacific, Air India, United , American Airlines, BOAC, QANTAS, Japan Airlines, Continental, Air New Zealand, UTA French Airlines, Pan AM, Lan Chile Airlines, were airlines that once traversed the runaways flying into & out of Nadi International Airport.

@@Iam_fijian In those days Nadi & Honolulu were stopover & refueling points from Australasia to North America & Canada. Today, with the advent of long range aircrafts, there's no need to make a stopover. 🤔

They can if they can climb the big mountain range to the north. Runway 1 is the other alternative but can only accommodate B737s, A320s, ATRs, props

some airlines have tried taking off towards the mountains like Air NZ and Virgin Australia... during busy times usually in the afternoon this does happens... but it a difficult n tricky move....
